Journal Reflective

In the third day of my teaching practice in Ebn-Dhaher school, was a


great day, but I faced difficult with managed the boys in class.
However, I arrived to school before the time of school started; I wait
around 15 minute to start the day, then the morning assembly start
and I attend it with my colleagues, in this school they make a great
morning assembly for the students it is so active for them , But the
atmosphere is very hot. In this day my classes with MST start in the
second period. I attend all classes with her and I observed my MST
through her teaching the students, what the methods she uses it for
them, and the way of her teaching. In addition , the day before this day
my MST tell me choose one day and class in this week and try to teach
them , I will give you a verbal feedback, to know what the strength
areas and the areas you need to work on it. I choose this day, grade 2.
So the fourth period was my class, I prepared all my materials, and
what I need for the lesson before the class, I make for them the lesson
with different activity and learning style.
Furthermore, the lesson about keyboarding, it is a first lesson for them
in a keyboarding sections. In this lesson students will learn the Numeric
keypad in keyboard and, and the Rapid typing program, that program
used to learn them the correct way of using a keyboard. At the
beginning of the class, I take the attendance, then I remind them the

rules of the class, and I told who will follow all the rules and share with
teacher and students they will find the stars, and who will find the
more stars will get reward them at the end of the class with a card
super hero for the class and candy. However, positive reinforcements
for the students in the class, which motivates them to in class to share
with teacher and help friends also that, encourage them to develop
their skills (Harmer, J. 2006). Then I start my lesson with a little activity
to engage them for the class, through this activity students will
discover the topic of our lesson. Then I start to explain the lesson by
using a PowerPoint. Next step I have a worksheet students applied in
their computer. The end of the class I asking them question to confirm
if they understand or not.
In spite of what I used a variety of methods in my lesson, but have
gotten some criticism negative and positive from my MST. The positive
criticism said, I planned my lesson in a good way and I determined the
good way of teaching the students to arrive for them the lesson. Even
though , the negative criticism is , I need to use more method to
manage my students , and I tried to control my tone voice through
teaching.
Briefly, in the next lesson I will used other method through my
teaching, and I will tried to improve the areas should development
through teaching the strength areas.
