Introduction:
Classroommanagementistheprocessbywhichteachersandcolleaguescreateto
maintainappropriatebehaviorofstudentsinclassroomsettings.Thereasonofsetting
classroommanagementstrategiesistodevelopprosocialbehaviorandincrease
studentacademicengagement.
Whatispositiveclassroommanagement?
Thepositiveclassroommanagementhasdifferentgoalstobuildanappropriate
classroomclimatethatisfullofpositivedisciplinesandsuitablelessonsforchildren.
First,itshouldsupportstudentstobecollaborativeintheclassroomandrespectthe
teacherandotherstudents.Second,theteacheralsoshouldcreateanattractive
classroomforchildrenandmotivatethemtoconcentrateinthelesson.
TheFiveclassroommanagementstrategies:
1.Rewardsystem:
Therewardsystemintheclassroomisusedfromtheteacherbyhangingthepictureof
thegoodstudentsandtakingofftheirpicturesiftheymisbehaved.Itmotivates
childrenpositivebehaviorandlackfromtheirmisbehavior.Itencouragesthemtobe
involvedinthelessonandtounderstandit.Attheendoftheweek,shegivesthe
excellentstudentsasmallgiftlikeaboxofchocolateoratoy.Thisrewardsystem
motivatesallthestudentstoparticipateintheclassroomandincreasefromtheir
positivebehaviors.Theotherclassinthekindergartentheyhaveadifferentreward
system.Everystudenthasapictureandthestudentwhocollectsmorestarswillhave
areward.Skinnerbelievedthegoalofpsychologyshouldbetofindwaystomake
educationenjoyableandeffectiveforallstudents.Thisrewardsystemaddsmorefun
tochildrenandmotivatesthemtobeinvolvedintheclass.Inmyopinion,itmightbe
effectiveforexcellentchildrenonly,becausetheotherstudentsthatneedsomehelp
maynothaveachancetohangtheirpictures.Theotherclassteacherusesauseful
rewardsystemmorethanmyteacheruses.
2.Consequences:
thechildwhobotherotherchildrenormakenoiseintheclass,theteacherlethimsits
besideherinthecircletime,tofocusonherexplanationfortheclassandtohelphim
andotherstudentstobeconcentratedinthelesson.thiswayisbeneficialforthe
naughtychildtonotbebusywiththethingsaroundhim.Inanotherclass,theteacher
lethernaughtychildsitsaloneinanothercornertonotconfuseherandtheother
students,sosheknowshowtoexplainthelesson.AccordingtoSkinner,hesaidthat
teacherscouldprofitfromknowingthatreinforcementiseffectiveinhelpingtoelicit
changesinbehavior.Usingthiswaywillresultpositiveresultstochildrentoreduce
fromtheirmisbehavior.IthinkthatthewaymyTPteacherusedwiththenaughty
childisbetterthantheotherteacherway,becauseitisgoodforallofthemeventhe
naughtychildanditwillgivehimimportancebyinvolvingwiththeclass.Theway
thattheotherteacherusedisunusefulforthenaughtychildbecausesittingalonein
anothercornerwillmakehimbebusywiththestuffofthecorner,sohemightmake
morenoiseintheclass.
3.SettingClearGuidelines:
Settingclearclassroomrulesisimportantforchildrentounderstandthediscipline.
Sheusedphotostosupporttheirunderstanding.Glasserbelievedthatitisimportant
fortheteachertorealizewhatcouldmotivatestudentsbehaviorallyandinfluencethe
overallclassroomenvironment.AnotherteacherintheKGusesruleswithoutadding
images.Thiswayisunusefulforchildrenatfourandfiveyearsold.Myteacherused
abetterwaythantheotherteacher.Itisapositivewaythatsheusedclearruleswith
photostoassistchildrentoapplytherulesinreality.
4.Transitions:
theteacherletsherstudentsstandintwolineswhilemovingfromaplacetoanother.
Whenshesays'hurryup'everyonerunstothedoorandstandintwolines.Theboys
standinalineandthegirlsstandinaline.Sheusestheword"Hurryup"tomake
themunderstandthatitsthetimetomoveandstandintwolines.Accordingto
Piaget'sgrossmotorskills,thewaythattheteacherisusingisgoodtoimprovethe
childrenmovementbymotivatingthemtostandandruninfrontofthedoor.Inmy
opinion,it'saneffectivewayforchildrentoassistthemmoveandbeorganized.The
otherteacherintheothersectionusingadifferentwaytoletthechildrenmove.She
singsthemasongaboutstandinginlinessotheyrunandstandintwolines.Bothof
thewaysarebeneficialandalsotheyaremorewaysthatencouragechildrentomove.
5.Attention:
Whenchildrenmakenoisetheteacheruseaveryuseful
methodtoletthempayattentiontoher.Sheturnsoffthelightssotheyknowthatthey
havetopayattentiontoher.Fromthebeginningoftheyear,sheusedthiswayso
childrengotusedtothiswaywiththetime.Accordingtothetheoriesofcognitive
developmentstagesfrommanytheorists.Usingthiswayeverydayimprovetheir
understandinginpayingattentiontotheteacher.Ilikedthiswaybecauseusingitis
usefultomakechildrenpayattentiontothelessonandrespecttheteacher.Theother
teacheroftheothersectionusingadifferentway.Sheringsthebelltomakethempay
attentiontoher.
Conclusion:
Attheend.Ithinkthatasuccessfulteacherwhousethesestrategiesinabeneficial
wayforchildrentohelpthemunderstandtheirlessonsandhaveanenjoyabletime.
