Dear Dr. Bruce,

The purpose of this letter is so I can show you that I have learned and understood the
student learning outcomes (SLOs) throughout the semester. The documents I have
decided to use to prove this to you are the following: my resume; new and original
document with peer reviews, two powerpoint slides, and a writers notebook. These
documents show that I have learned and improved within my writing throughout this
course. The way I decided to organize my eportfolio is putting my major assignment first
which is my resume continued by my other two options that show SLOs that my resume
didnt cover.
My first document is my resume; the reason why I chose my resume is because I feel
like I could have done a much better job on it. I had originally applied for the researcher
position but I ended up getting photographer. I think I didnt get the position I wanted
was because I wasnt as persuasive as I shouldve been. Also the job experience I but
done I didnt connect it to researching. I also did have a couple of formatting errors. My
resume covers three of the SLOs; those SLOs are rhetorical focus, persuasion, and
organization. I strongly believe that it covers all three of the SLOs is because it covers
the formal part of rhetorical focus. In persuasion I have to persuade the reader to give
me the job I am applying for, and organization the resume has to look nicely and
everything has to be aligned.
My second document that is located in my portfolio is two powerpoint slides because
these slides cover three of the SLOs that my resume doesnt cover. The slides cover
ethical citation, language and design, and collaboration. The slides were based on a
presentation on which my group had to do some research based on Conflict Mining and
Electronic Manufacturing. We did have a couple of citations within the slides and we
also collaborated to complete them.
My third document is a writers notebook; I chose this writers notebook because this
document is informal. The document satisfies the rhetorical focus from the SLOs. The
whole document is just like a journal and it mainly consists of my opinions and its not
directed towards anyone but myself. I felt like out of all the other writers notebook this
one was the one that I strongly had an opinion on which encouraged me to write a little
more than the usual.

In conclusion this portfolio really helped me analyze the things I need to work on for the
near future. I would say one of them would be realizing when to make a document
formal and informal. Also to realize that not everyone is going to agree with me and
understand that everyone has different opinions. I realized this when we were working
on the powerpoint, it is all about collaborating on things when it comes to groups. I liked
the fact that throughout the semester we did a plenty of projects that we will be using in
the future.
Sincerely,

Seily Garcia
