Dear Inez,

After observing the work done by Kyle Houston at Anders Consulting, I think
that he would benefit by developing more in key areas before becoming the
Team Leader. I have based my opinions on Kyle and the 15 other group
members by using peer evaluations for the past six months as their
supervisor. The evaluations take into account three main performances:
contributing to the team, listening skills, and facilitating group problem
solving.
Kyle scored rather well in the contributing section of the evaluation with a
mean score of 2.83 out of 3. He offers ideas to the group in a positive tone
and they all seem well thought out. His attendance rating is perfect for all of
the meetings that occurred in the past 6 months. Kyle is a very organized
individual who meets all of his deadlines without fail.
Listening was Kyles lowest score with a mean of 1.96 out of a possible 3. His
performance was average in this area. He has a little trouble in
comprehending other team members ideas from time to time. Kyle does let
other members of the team talk and give ideas. He did receive a zero in this
section. This is a key area to have Kyle focus on improvement.
In the last section of Facilitating group problem solving, Kyle did perform
better in it than in the listening portion. His score in this was 2.18 out of 3.
He frequently asks questions to help organize the groups discussions. Kyle
will break down the questions asked so that they may be better understood
so that they can stay on course. He has very creative alternative solutions
when the main answer goes awry. Kyle does seem to discard all but the best
solution at times which lowered his score.
By calculating these three scores, Kyles overall score comes to a 2.42 out of
a possible 3. Kyle is a strong contributor and meets all of his deadlines. He
needs improvement on his listening skills and I can help him with that over
time. His group problem solving does need a little work as well. I could help
give Kyle projects to do that best fits what he needs improvement on. I
believe that Kyle could be the Team Leader of the group one day with proper
training.
Thank you for trusting me with this job and Ill see to it that Kyle gets the
training he needs. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Dakota Hainline, Team Leader at Anders Consulting Company
