Alarcon, Alicia, and Ethriam Cash. Brammer.
The Border Patrol Ate My Dust. Houston, TX: Atre Publico, 2004. Print.
This book writes the accounts of Mexican immigrants who managed to dodge the border control and
made it safely to the other side. It shows what each Latino immigrant must do if they wish to have a
better life in America. It writes and tells of the reasons behind the people that motivates them to go to
America.
Gold, SJ. "Immigration Benefits America."
SOCIETY, 46.5 (2009): 408-411.
This argues takes the side of why immigrants (not just Hispanic) help America. It argues that America
receives more diversity from then. And from diversity, there is more cultural education for the citizens
already here.
Lippard, Cameron D., and Charles A. Gallagher.
Being Brown in Dixie: Race, Ethnicity, and Latino Immigration in the New South
Boulder, CO: First Forum Press, 2011. Print.
This book compares the Latino population to that of the Black population. Both authors write, research
and compare the education, career fields, and housing of the Latinos in the South to the Blacks in the
South. They want to find any similarities between the two groups to see if they are both being treated the
same since they are both part of the minority group.
Massey, Douglas S. "Understanding America's Immigration 'Crisis'." Proceedings of the American
Philosophical Society, 151.3 (2007): 309-327.
This article argues why many Mexicans come into America. To sum up, it states the problem lies with the
contradictory border control policies. It states an idea of maybe moving better jobs down to Mexico to
prevent them from coming into the US.

Personal Reflection
I had already learned the basics on how to research anything and to make sure your sources
creditable. However Ive never done an annotated bibliography before. I found it rather easy to do since
it was basically citing your sources and giving a quick summary of what each source was about. Using
the resources I found on the Oviatt Library, I was able to find creditable sources. Research was easier with
One Search and J-Store. With One Search, if I found a good resource, the website shows how to cite it in
different formats like, APA, MLA, and Chicago style.
I found a lot of books, article reviews, journals and peer reviews that I could use. During my
research was easy. The hardest thing was finding something to fit what my partners and I were trying to
say in our presentation. Now that Im looking back on this assignment as a whole, I wished we as a
group couldve done better in working together to make our presentation stronger than it was. Doing my
part of the work and research was very simple and not time consuming but working in a group is harder
than it sounds.
