The glass education of the lower class
This research paper demonstrates the lower classes glass being to higher
education. I decided to write this paper because many people seem to think that the
educational discriminates against minorities. I believe this concept is wrong. The
reason I don't think this is correct is because we live in America, where every citizen
is born virtually equal. We all have the same rights and access to education. When
applying or attending higher education, by law higher education cannot discriminate
against minorities. The popular belief that higher education discriminates against
minorities comes from statistics that say more Caucasian attend higher education. At
the time the higher class and middle class was mainly made up of Caucasians this is
the reason why it appeared that minorities were being discriminated against. Now that
social classes are not made up of specific ethnic group we can see that its not ethic
group that are being discriminated but rather the lower class.
I wish to address issues regarding the structure of the educational system, the
funding of the educational system and the funds that are meant to create equality
throughout the social classes. I will also be comparing the lower classs secondary
education to the higher classs secondary education to explain how the lower class hit
and educational glass ceiling when attending higher education. Education reform is

important because the lower class does not have an opportunity to break the cycle of
poverty. The cycle of poverty effects many and many citizens. The reason I think the
cycle of poverty should be broken is because the crime rate increase when the poverty
rate increases, and decreases when the poverty rate decreases. Although the poverty
rate will never be zero we as a Country can at least attempt to limit the amount of
crime in our country.
Another reasons I think we need education reform is because we have so many
lower class citizens that have the potential to create breakthrough technology. But
because they are restricted to the educational glass ceiling they never fully reach their
educational potential. Every day we limit the mind of a person that will have break
through ideas is a day more we limit ourselves to their break through idea.
There are many people who fear that education reform because of logical
reasons. The most common is, brain drain, brain drain happens when a country over
educates their population. What happens is either the people are not fully educated in
their field or their so many people that either their wage is cut or they never get a job.
The third option is for them to move out of the country. All three are possible in fact
that is what is currently happening to India. But my solution does not involve mass
producing degrees. My solution allows lower class students who have the capabilities,
and mental intellect to compete on par with the higher class. Because the higher class
will be forced to compete against people who are equal to them, their mental abilities
will be pushed to the absolute limit. As a result there is a greater chance that one of
them will have a break through idea that will further improve our life style.
