ISTC 301-Final Exam Reflection
Technology continues to play an important role in my learning process
and will positively affect my methods of teaching in the future. As we are
approaching the end of the semester, I now have a better understanding on
the importance on the role of technology within todays classroom. There are
many reasons why technology is important in the classroom, other than that
it is a fun lesson to keep the students engaged. Technology in the classroom
will help students prepare for their future careers as the world is becoming
more and more reliant on such devices. Technology also reaches a diverse
group of learning styles, which becomes increasingly beneficial for those
requiring devices to meet their special needs. Students are more likely to
collaborate and engage with other students as well as make the classroom a
more exciting environment to learn. With technology as the main learning
tool both inside and outside the classroom, students establish responsibility
within their learning style and the effectiveness of their assignments.
Overall, technology is the future of our education.
Many applications that we have studied throughout this course will be
essential in my effectiveness of incorporating technology into my own
classroom. Expected to have an understanding on UDL, TPACK, and Common
Core, technology will be beneficial as a teacher as it will enable me to

develop creative and diverse lesson plans while following the standards of
the state. Using the applications that we have adjusted to over the semester
will allow me to also prepare students to create blogs and develop different
homework assignments by incorporating digital videos, podcasts, and more.
Previously, I believed that technology should only be used as a resource that
enhances the understanding of what is currently being learned or taught
within the classroom. My viewpoint has recently changed as now I think it
may be beneficial to incorporate technology often throughout the classroom
in order to prepare them for future jobs and experiences.
Creating a blog has made the greatest impact on my personal
philosophy as I now have a better comprehension of why technology is so
imperative to be included within the classroom. With a personal blog, I am
able to bring my work into a job interview in order to display an accurate
representation of who I am as a worker and as a person. By having a blog, I
am more likely to get a job compared to someone who doesnt. My
knowledge of effective teaching practice been altered by your participation
in this course since I have used many applications that I will be able to use
with my students. By understanding these applications, I will be able to
incorporate technology into my classroom in order to meet the needs of my
millennial learners.
