Dear Hiring Administration:
Your search for a Certified Nurse Assistant was brought to my attention by your advertisement in the LA
Times.
As a student at Pasadena City College, I am receiving a higher level education which emphasizes many
skills of mine because of my developing knowledge as a Certified Nurse Assistant and as a Biology
Major. As you will see from my resume, I have experience that have met the set standards that is required
for the job. I am not only able to perform the tasks necessary because of my two-hundred hours of
experience in a hospital set environment, but also due to the Certification Diploma that I received from
the American Red Cross. I am enthusiastic about pursuing a career in the Medical field and I do wish to
expand my knowledge as I continue to grow as an academic student, and as a soon to be medical student.
I welcome the opportunity to meet with anyone from the hiring committee so that we may discuss the
details of my qualifications; you can reach me at (213) 280-2604 from noon to eight in evening daily or
by e-mail at lunagtr25@gmail.com. I plan to call about my application status so that I may see the
progress in line. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,

Pediatrician Process Interview

Throughout my pursuit in finding an adequate candidate to interview, I came across the
opportunity to interview my past Pediatrician, Dr. Pamela Shaft Gindi. Dr. Gindi displays the
ambition and mindset one must have when enduring the road to the medical field. When asked
how she got started in this work environment, she answered by saying, My father was an
Orthopedic Surgeon. Seeing him pursue the career that he chose made me chase a legacy as
significant as his. I was influenced by his work ethic and perseverance in his line of work. I
began to push myself academically through High School to limits that not only met his standards,
but passed them when I had got accepted to USC. Thats when I decided to be a Pediatrician. I
love kids. Throughout the interview, Dr. Gindi displayed a great amount of charisma describing
her line of work. When asked what she liked most/least about her career she answered without
hesitance, The downside is documentation of every procedure or treatment the patient has to go
through. Other than that, I love everything about my job. As devious as it is to say, my favorite
part is probably injecting kids with vaccinations. Dr. Gindi describes her day at the Los Angeles
County and University of Southern California Medical Center as very continuous and steady. She
rounds up seeing almost 25-30 patients a day. Gindi explains, I come in Mondays, Tuesdays,
and Fridays at nine in the morning and leave at five in the afternoon. I only like to take a thirty
minute lunch just so I can at least make room to see maybe, three or more patients a day. On
average, I see four patients per hour. I asked Dr. Gindi if there are any trends that might affect
her line of work within five years and her response was simply describing how technology will
play an even greater role in solving problems with terminally ill patients.

When I asked Dr. Gindi about the skills and abilities that one must possess for the
Medical Field she answered, If youre serious, you have to take Organic Chemistry and
Anatomy seriously. Being able to understand the sciences consisting of Biology and Chemistry
and Anatomy will determine whether you are sufficient in understanding diagnosis and
treatments. Make sure youre patient too. It doesnt happen overnight. I thought the last part of
her answer was the biggest truth that eager potential medical students need to understand;
Patience. Being a Doctor in any category takes a great amount of time. I would have to go
through 4 years of school as an undergraduate, next go to medical school for 4 years, and go
through 3-7 years of residency before I am eligible for a Medical License. I asked Dr. Gindi what
are her usual tasks throughout a typical day. She answered, The majority of the time I am giving
physicals to my patients and deciding if they need a few more vaccinations. The last question I
asked her was if she had any advice for me or routes I should take now that aiming to study in
her line of work. She answered saying, Medical Schools like to see that you put yourself in the
position to be around a hospital set environment. I recommend putting in community service
hours at the Huntington Hospital or places like The American Red Cross.
This interview with my old pediatrician really put the medical field route as a definite
career option. I say that because I do see myself pursuing something as ambitious as a career as a
Pediatrician or a Cardiologist. Im not sure what type of Doctor I would want to be, but knowing
I still have a lot of time to think about the matter, puts my mind at ease.

Mrs./Dr. Pamela Shaft Gindi

MBTI Reading Assessment Reflection
I am apart of the estimated 11 and 14 percent that make up the American population because of
the fact that I am officially known as an ESFJ. Extraverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. An ESFJ are
usually said to be friendly, outgoing, and sympathetic. ESFJs are said to be sensitive, generous, loyal and
they seek approval when needed. Since ESFJs are very sensitive we are known to take everything
personally and lack the ability to think first then execute. The order we(I) follow feeling, sensing,
intuition, then thinking. I honestly can agree with what it says on the level of thinking. ESFJs are not
very logical thinkers. I have made some pretty bad decisions without even thinking of the consequences
because I let my emotions get in the way. I dont agree with the fact that ESFJs are said to be very
committed to charity groups and religious groups because Im not as committed as many people would
think to outside groups or clubs. I love the fact that ESFJs are said to take life seriously and understand
that its a business. I do see life as something to be taken serious especially with my education but when it
comes to taking things seriously that I dont enjoy what so ever, I easily stop caring.
I assessed my dad with the MBTI Assessment. My dad is very charismatic, charming, and social
when its the time for it. On many days he is very quiet and very mellow. I found the interviewing part of
the project the most exciting because I got to see who my dad could possibly be with the personality test.
My dad is an ISTP which is apart of 4 to 7 percent of the American population and that is known to be
very calm, independent, self-contained and often aloof. They are very realistic and self practical. My dad
generally likes to keep away from others and work independently. They are risk takers and like to live in
the fast lane. I honestly have to disagree with the interpretation because my dad is not a mountain climber
or a bike rider. Hes a very laid-back harding working independent guy. I loved the project because it did
allow some bonding time with my father and I got to figure out who I am displayed as with my
personality.
