Hunter, Jack. How Gun Control Kills. The American Conservative. Burr Media Group, 27 Dec
2012. Web. 13 July 2014.
Jack Hunter known as the new media director for Senator Paul wrote this article revealing a
number of instances where guns have had a positive effect on stopping mass shootings. In all of these
shootings there was someone nearby with a firearm that intervened to stop the killer. He explains that
by disarming people of guns only the trustworthy and non violent gun owners will abide leaving guns
in the hands of those who desire to use them violently. The reason I chose this article is to give us
examples of how firearms can protect the public. It will be important information as we discuss and
compare the pros and cons of the second amendment.

Milligan, Susan. We Need Gun Control to Stop More Than Criminals. U.S. News and World
Report (2014).
Political and foreign writer Susan Milligan, argues that those who oppose gun control oversee
the non-classic criminals who have access to guns. Milligan supports her argument by providing
several circumstances where gun restrictions could have saved lives. For instance, one of her examples
was where a gunman opened fire at a grocery store in Indiana killing two people. If this individual
would have provided a background check could he have past? Moreover, the evidence provided by
Milligan attempts to show how background checks could essential reduce the deaths of several
people.

James Q. Wilson. Gun control isnt the answer . Los Angeles Times (2007).
Professor and educator James Q. Wilson argues that the implementation of gun controls will not
solve criminal acts. Those who favor gun control overlook how accessible guns are. Whether it is
legally or illegal the amount of guns control in the United States is too big to be reduce. Although,

background checks would limit the facilitation of guns, people always tend to find a way to access a
gun. For example, some may end up stealing a gun from those who properly purchase a gun.
Moreover, Guns dont kill people, people kill people. Therefore the need for gun control is not the
solution. Instead of focusing in gun control mental programs should be implemented.

Cooke, Charles C. W. Gun-Control Dishonesty . National Review (2013).

Reviewer and writer Charles Cooke argues that gun control has not prevented massive
massacres. His argument is illustrated through the enormous shooting that have occur in the past
decade. For instance, the shooting in Sandy Hook Elementary School killed several students and
teachers. Cooks arguments state that attempting to do something has nothing to do with preventing
deaths. Consequently, Cooke also argues that these incidents have acted through the proper process.
Cooke states that perpetrator have not bought a weapon through unregulated private sale instead,
two things happen either the killer followed the law to the letter or he found his own way to do so.
