Cleaner Energy Makes a Cleaner Planet"

"

Sustainable energy, the cleanest sources of energy we have found and also the

longest lasting. Fossil fuels create terrible pollution and will eventually run out, unlike
water, wind, geothermal, solar, wave, and tidal energy. Most people are not taking full
advantage of this cleaner longer lasting energy. This kind of energy will not only help the
planet but it will also help put money in your pocket if you decide to switch, it might take
a while but you will save money and you will make money if you want to invest in this
kind of energy. This is to highlight different outlooks on sustainable energy and to inform
people on why we should or shouldn't use it."

Sustainable energy always gets a bad rap for not being able to put out as much

energy as fossil fuels. Most people think you need more space and more units, such as
more solar panels or wind turbines, to create as much energy and fossil fuel can create,
that may be true and a big factor in making a decision on switching to sustainable
energy. but you also have to realize that there are other ways to use sustainable energy
can be created underground and many other space friendly ways. That is something

Jones 2
that you have to think about when you are considering changing to sustainable energy,
you will need more sources of power or units in other word. It will cost you a little more
but in the long run you will be helping the planet and you could potentially be better off
because fossil fuels will eventually run out. But here are some of those reasons and
more from the viewpoint David Glenn, Well, first and foremost, the entire energy
production industry is absolutely massive. That means that there are a lot of powerful
people who make their livings off of the way things are currently done, and would be
financially devastated should any drastic changes be madeWith alternative energy
still being a relatively new idea, it has yet to be made as cost-effective as existing
conventional power production methods. Before any widespread changes can be
implemented, a substantial amount of research must be done. Even for tested and
reliable technology such as that used in capturing solar power, the cost of production
and maintenance when compared to conventional coal-burning makes it a less
attractive option. And with the demand for electricity increasing everyday, governments
are being forced to choose the less expensive, if also more harmful, form of
energy. (Glenn, David. "3 Reasons Why We Haven't Switched to Alternative Energy."

The 9.2 billion dollar company, MGM, spends more that $350,000 a day, just on

their properties in Las Vegas. ("MGM Goes Green: C-Suite with Jeffrey Hayzlett."
Bloomberg.com. Bloomberg, 29 Oct. 2015. Web. 15 Dec. 2015.) You have to realize
that they don't only own the MGM Grand and the MGM Signature but also Mandalay
Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, City Center, Aria, Vdara, Bellagio, Mirage, Circus

Jones 3
Circus, and New York-NewYork. If people are thinking of switching to sustainable energy
but aren't quite sure yet just think MGM gets 6 million dollars back from using
sustainable energy, and they do not lose any property bringing in the units to produce
tat energy. All of their water recycling units are under their properties. City Center,
MGMs shopping center is one of the largest sustainable buildings in the US. The
amount of energy saved by the efficient design of CityCenter is equal to the average
annual power use of 8,800 homes. ("Energy." CityCenter. City Center, 1 Dec. 2015.
Web. 15 Dec. 2015) This company or empire is one the leading companies in the United
States for sustainable energy, it crazy to think that they switch to this sort of energy
because they were losing a ton of money during the recession. MGM was a laughing
stock during the recession because they turned to sustainable energy while they were
losing money, but look at them now they own more than half of the casinos on The Strip.
Companies that they have conventions with will not do conventions in other casinos
because they are not sustainable energy, They are gaining business because of their
sustainable energy. The Five Star Alliance reports that two of the ten five star resorts,
the Vdara, and the Aria, are connected to City Center. City Center is one of the largest
sustainable buildings in the US. This should pull people that are on the wall about
implementing sustainable energy to actually convert to fully using sustainable energy. "

The sustainable energy field is one of the fastest growing innovative fields in

technology and energy. Switching to sustainable energy wont only help your pocket but
it will also help reduce pollution and waste. Some recent scenarios estimate that
renewables will contribute more to a low-carbon energy supply by 2050 than nuclear

power or fossil fuels using carbon capture and storage. Hydro, geothermal and
bioenergy have long been competitive where resources are available, and wind and
solar are also economically attractive in many locations. If supported by strong enabling
policies at the public level and robust investment from the private sector, renewable
energy could supply a much larger share of the worlds energy by 2030. ("Renewable
Energy - Sustainable Energy for All." Sustainable Energy for All Renewable Energy
Comments. Sustainable Energy For All, 1 Dec. 2015. Web. 15 Dec. 2015.) Said by
Sustainable Energy For All, a well known and a very informative site and company. I
firmly believe that sustainable energy is the future for energy. Pollution is a very not only
to humans but to the planet. This was taken from The Union of Concerned Scientists,
But some energy costs are not included in consumer utility or gas bills, nor are they
paid for by the companies that produce or sell the energy. These include human health
problems caused by air pollution from the burning of coal and oil; damage to land from
coal mining and to miners from black lung disease; environmental degradation caused
by global warming, acid rain, and water pollution; and national security costs, such as
protecting foreign sources of oil. ("The Hidden Cost of Fossil Fuels." Union of
Concerned Scientists. Union of Concerned Scientists. Web. 15 Dec. 2015.)I actually
hope that when I graduate I can own my own sustainable energy production and
distribution company. I believe that sustainable energy will do very well in the future and
I am willing to make it the core of my career. "
"

"

"

In conclusion I believe that sustainable energy could benefit any company that

uses any energy. It will benefit the planet and the economy. If you know someone that is

Jones 5
thinking about converting to sustainable energy just have them try it out for a little while,
make the investment and see how it benefits them."
