Professional Development Expectations at Saint Ignatius

Goals:

To encourage and empower our colleagues to share with and learn from each other.

To create an appropriate space for continual professional growth opportunities throughout

the year.

To incorporate more tailored professional growth by allowing for some choice.

To investigate both the art and science of teaching and, therefore, provide a diversity
of professional growth opportunities for our adult community to engage in from the practical
to the philosophical.

Format:

Sessions will be offered approximately once a month. During this first year, we will try a variety of times:
o Before school and a few periods during the morning
o After school and a few periods during the afternoon

Participation in 2 sessions each semester will be required. Faculty can choose which sessions they want
to participate in. (Participation in an ongoing Tech Team will count as 1.)

In general, session attendance will be capped at 20 participants. (Sign up will be available in advance.)

In general, the facilitator will present for 15-20 minutes, which will allow for the rest of the session to be
collaborative and interactive. (The length of each session will be 1 period; about 45 minutes.)

There may be the option for follow-up conversations among the session participants, as requested, which I
am happy to help organize.

Each session will conclude with an evaluation survey.
