Geotextile

Geotextile used in this tender has to mainly serve as

filtration and separation element.
Main function of filtration is to allow water to pass through
it which in turn depends on permeability of material.
For material to act as separator it should be able to sustain
the load i.e. CBR of material is important.
The material should have a minimum tensile resistance for
Placing.

Geo Grid

Geogrid used here is mainly for reinforcement purpose.

To act as a reinforcement geogrid should resist the load
i.e. Tensile strength of geogrid.
This tensile resisting capacity decreases with period
hence long term strength is important.
It is mentioned in tender to use LDPE or
Equivalent coated geogrid.
PE coated provides high resistance to
UV rays

Gabion
Gabion box used here should be able to take load from
the boulders so its strength should be of 350 N/mm2
The wire mesh used to prepare gabion box should be
pvc coated and galvanized.
The coating increases the strength

Double twisted wire mesh

The wire mesh is used for protection against rockfall.
Hence to resist the rockfall the wire mesh should have
tensile strength of atleast 550 N/mm2.
The minimum breaking load of rope is 40.3 kN.
