Executive summary
In this report youll find a comparison of three websites related to G2C. The
websites are from the governments of the United States of America, South
Africa and India.

Introduction
First youll get an overview of each website separately. Afterwards there will
be a comparison of the three websites. The websites will be overviewed
according to content, functionality, authority and attractiveness.

Content
www.usa.gov
First of all, we have the website of the government of the USA. The website is
used by its citizens and is used as a portal site. Theres information available
on this page as well, but the content presented here is focused on how to get
into contact with all the bodies of the government and fast links to what
would be assumed to be content that has been requested frequently by the
visitors of the website.

www.gov.za
Secondly, there is the government website of the republic of South-Africa.
This page in particular is again a portal site. You can find a lot of interesting
news about the government and what their officials are doing for the people.

www.gov.in
Lastly we have the website of the Indian government. The website acts once
again as a portal site, but theres a lot of direct links and info about
numerous frequent visited pages available. The website is regarded as on of
the better G2C websites in the world.

Functionality
www.usa.gov
This website works very intuitively, you can find a search box and get an
overview of direct links to a wide range of topics that the visitor is interested
in. There is direct contact information to government bodies even to more
local governments.

www.gov.za
On this portal site you can find a search box as well and there are a wide
range of menus to find all the information the government provides, each
separated by its own topic. The website has links to apps for news letters, so
the citizens can stay informed without having to visit the website every time.

www.gov.in
On this website you find a whole range of direct links towards every topic
that a citizen might find interesting. These links are very up to date. Theres
even a separate section where you can find most searched topics. Its
possible to change the language of the website and for readers with bad

eyesight its possible to change the font size. There is a link towards apps, so
the website is functional on mobile devices as well.

There are direct links to contact all of the different government bodies.
Furthermore theres a possibility to contact the webmaster, leave feedback,
etc. The site is owned by the government of the USA and is copyrighted.

Theres a possibility to e-mail the owners of the website. This is a
government website as well and you can find contact info to give feedback of
subscribe to news letters. The site is infringed with copyright.

www.gov.in
On this website there are many ways to get into contact with the developers
of the content and website in general. It is as well government owned and
thus copyright is applied.

Attractiveness
www.gov.usa
The site looks good, the font easily readable. There are no complaints color
wise. Theres not too much and not too little information and every link is
clearly marked by images that increase the ease of usage as well.

www.gov.za
The lay out of the website is decent. There are a decent amount of pictures
and movies used as well. The amount of text is not too abundant. Overall, a
basic and good website.

www.gov.in
In order of attractiveness this website might be the lesser one of the three
since not too much images are used. Theres a lot of information in a little
amount of space, but it still is doable to read and find what you are looking
for.

Comparison
By content
The websites are not that different when you look at the content. Each
website provides the same information more or less, but the focus on
highlighted topics are different for each country. This is most likely due to
research and feedback from their users.

By functionality
Again, each website provides the same tools to easily navigate through the
content provided. It must be said though that the website of the Indian
government is more linked to apps and mobile devices than the other two. As
well in order of ease of navigating the Indian government has put more effort
in providing more up to date content in the first line of sight when entering
the website and therefor created an easier way of use.

By authority
The same amount of authority applies for all the websites.

By attractiveness
The most attractive website in my opinion is the one from the USA. Followed
by the one from South Africa and India. It must be said however whats been
lost in attractiveness might be gained in functionality and vice versa. Also
content might have been favored over attractiveness where necessary when
we look at the website of the Indian government.

Conclusion
Each website has there positive and negative sides. If we take each topic
that has been overviewed into account it must be said that the website of
the Indian government looks indeed to be the best website of the three.
What It lacks in attractiveness it makes up more than enough in functionality
and content. The second best website would be the one of the USA, followed
by the one of South Africa.
