The Birth
An angel named Gabriel went to a young Jewish woman named Mary
and told her she would be having a baby who would be the son of God
whom she would name Jesus. Mary and her husband to be Joseph
traveled to Bethlehem but they had to stay in a stable because their
was no where else for them to stay. That night Jesus was born on
December 25 in a manger. Some angels went to some shepherds in a
field and told them that a new Savior has been born so they
immediately went to go see Jesus in the manger.

Jesus Baptism
Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist in the Jordan River.
Jesus waited just like all of the other people who wanted to
get baptised and freed from their sins, even though he was
already pure and free from all sin. John objected and
wanted to be baptised by Jesus instead but Jesus insisted
and John baptised him in the Jordan River. At that moment
the Jordan River and all other waters that flowed among
the baptism site became holy.

The First Miracle

There was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was there and both Jesus
and his disciples were invited to the wedding. When the wine ran out, Mary told Jesus They
have no wine.

There were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of

purification. Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. So they filled them up to the
brim. And He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter. So they took
it to him. When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know
where it came from, but the servants did, the headwaiter called the bride and groom and
said to them, Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk
freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now. This was
the beginning of His signs. What Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, His disciples believed in Him.

Feeding the 5,000

Jesus took his disciples on a boat in the Sea of Galilee. Many people
heard of him coming and they went to see him bringing their sick
friends and relatives. When the boat landed he taught them about the
Kingdom of God and healed the sick. Looking at the crowd it numbered
5,00 men not counting women and children. He wanted to know where
they could buy food for them. Andrew brought forward a small boy with
5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Jesus told the crowd to sit in groups of fifty
and then held up the food to his father and gave thanks. He then told
his disciples to distribute it to the people. It was so much everyone
there ate as much as they wanted. His disciples collected the leftovers
and it filled 12 baskets. The crowd was so overwhelmed that they
wanted to force Jesus to be their king

Walking on Water
After Jesus had fed the 5,000 he told his disciples to go to the other side of
the Sea of Galilee. Jesus went to pray on a mountain but the disciples were
having a hard time getting across the sea because it was windy. Jesus saw
his closes friends in need and went to them in defying all forces of gravity
and physics. He started walking on water to his disciples boat. Jesus
disciples saw him walking towards them but they didnt realize it was him
and they started screaming that it was a ghost. Jesus said to them Be of
Good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid. Peter said to him Lord if it is you,
command me to come to you on water. Jesus told him to come and Peter
started walking on water. The winds gots really strong and Peter took his
attention off Jesus and started to sink and cry for help. Jesus stretched out
and caught him and asked why did you doubt me?

Jesus is Tested . 3 Times

Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by satan. After forty days and forty
nights of not eating he was hungry. Satan came to him as a snake and said if you are the Son of God
turn these stones into bread. Jesus answered, It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on
every word that comes from the mouth of God. The second time, the devil took him to the holy city
and had him stand on the highest point of the temple and said If you are the Son of God throw
yourself down for it is written: he will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in
their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. Jesus said For it is also written do
not put the Lord your God to the test. For the last time, the devil took him to a very high mountain
and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. All this I will give you, if you will
bow down and worship me. Jesus said to him, Away from me, Satan! For it is written: Worship the
Lord your God, and serve him only. Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Raising of Lazarus
A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. Their brother, Lazarus, was
sick. So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, Lord, your dear friend is very sick. But when Jesus heard
about it he said, Lazaruss sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God
will receive glory from this. Although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, he stayed where he was for the next
two days. Finally, he said to his disciples, Lets go back to Judea. Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but now I will
go and wake him up. The disciples said, Lord, if he is sleeping, he will soon get better! They thought Jesus meant
Lazarus was really sleeping, but Jesus meant Lazarus had died. So he told themLazarus is dead and for your sakes,
Im glad I wasnt there, for now you will really believe. Come, lets go see him. When Jesus arrived at Bethany, he
was told that Lazarus had already been in his grave for four days. Martha said to Jesus,Lord, if only you had been
here, my brother would not have died. Martha, the dead mans sister, protested, Lord, he has been dead for four
days. The smell will be terrible. Jesus responded, Didnt I tell you that you would see Gods glory if you believe? So
she rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, Father, thank you for hearing me. You always
hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.
Lazarus, come out! And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in grave clothes, his face wrapped in a
headcloth.

Last Supper and the Betrayal

Jesus and his disciples had one last meal before he would be put to
death. During the meal, Jesus grabbed a bowl and a towel and started
to wash his disciples, who named his apostles, feet. When it was Peters
turn he refused and said Jesus I wont let you wash my feet and Jesus
said If I dont you will have no part of me so Peter allowed it. Jesus knew
Judas was going to betray him and told him to go do what he was
planning. Judas left immediately and the other 11 apostles were
confused. Jesus broke some bread and poured a glass of wine and told
the remaining apostles to eat and drink this and that it was the blood
and body of him.

Arrest in Gethsemane
After the Passover meal, Jesus took his apostles to the Garden of
Gethsemane to pray. He prayed to his father and said he is determined
to finish his earthly mission. Judas knew that that would be the perfect
place to have Jesus arrested so he led a mob there to arrest him. Judas
said he would point Jesus out by kissing him and saying Greetings
Rabbi as a signal. After the mob took Jesus to the House of Caiaphas,
his apostles ran away in fear that they would be arrested too.

Crucifixion
Before Jesus crucifixion, he was whipped and beaten. Jesus was
mocked, struck on the head and spit on several times. A crown of thorns
was placed on his head and he was stripped naked. Jesus was too weak
to carry his cross so Simon of Cyrene was forced to carry it for him. He
was led to Golgotha and was offered things to relieve his suffering but
be refused. Stake-like nails were driven through his hands and feet
where he was fastened to the cross and died between two convicted
criminals.

Burial
Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus and with Pilates
permission, he came and took the body away. Joseph was now a disciple
of Jesus. He was accompanied by Nicodemus. He brought a mixture of
myrrh and aloes. Taking Jesus body, the two of them wrapped it, with
the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial
customs. At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden,
and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid.
Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was
nearby, they laid Jesus there.

Resurrection
Jesus' body was placed in a tomb on Friday. There was no time to properly prepare the body for
burial with spices and ointments according to Jewish customs. No work could be done on the
Sabbath, so that they had to wait until Sunday. Early Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and several
other women went to the tomb with the spices they had prepared. When they arrived, they found
the tomb had been opened already. When they went in, they did not find Jesus' body, and they
wondered what had happened. Suddenly, two angels in white clothes were there. The women were
terrified, but the angels said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not
here, He has risen! Remember how He told you that He would be turned over to sinful men, be
crucified, and rise again on the third day!" When Peter and the other apostle went home, Mary
Magdalene stayed outside the tomb crying. Suddenly she saw Jesus standing there, but she did not
recognize Him at first. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?"
Mary soon regconized him but Jesus told her to not hold on to him. That same Sunday evening most
of the apostles were together. They had locked themselves in a room in fear that the religious
leaders would want them crucified next. Suddenly, Jesus was there among them. He said, "Peace be
with you." Jesus showed them the wounds from crucifixion in his side and hands. The apostles were
overjoyed to see Jesus alive again. Jesus said again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me,
so I send you."

Ascension
Forty days after his resurrection, Jesus called his 11 apostles together on the
Mount of Olives, outside Jerusalem. Still not completely understanding that Jesus
mission had been spiritual and not political, the disciples asked Jesus if he was
going to restore the kingdom to Israel. They were frustrated with Roman
oppression and may have envisioned an overthrow of Rome. Jesus answered
them:"It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own
authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you
will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends
of the earth." At that moment Jesus was ascended into heaven and was hidden
by a cloud. As his 11 apostles watched 2 angels in white appeared and said "This
same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the
same way you have seen him go into heaven." Then Jesus apostles walked back
to Jerusalem to the upstairs room where they had been staying and held a prayer
meeting.

How I became a follower of Jesus

I became a follower of Jesus Christ because all of my family members
that I know about are Christians. I grew up learning about about God
and Jesus and Im still learning. My grandmother took my brother and I
to church every Sunday and even early enough for us to go to Sunday
School. I basically grew up learning about God and how Jesus Died for
my sins. Every since I was little my grandparents and parents would
read me stories about Jesus and God and got me a Children's Bible so I
could read on my own.
