Establish and execute holistic advising program for 400 NCAA Division 2 level student
athletes. Programs beginning prior to admission with recruiting events, strengthen to
a wholly athlete focused student orientation, and further evolve via strategic
touchpoints to assist varsity student athletes in planning and executing their
academic goals to their highest potential while striving for success in their competitive
sports. Interaction includes group events as well as ongoing personal appointments
and connections. Monitor and report students progress and either celebrate or assist
in making adjustments as appropriate.

Provided direction and assistance for students in colleges of Liberal Arts, Science and
Fine, Performing Communication Arts, including those in pre-professional majors.
Communication is primarily on one-to-one basis and concerns varied topics, including
graduation requirements and orientation to university life as well as more sensitive
topics related to academic assessment and emotional well-being. Participate in on-site
admissions process in which students are immediately recruited and provided instant
admission, credit evaluation and course selection information. Serve as Athletic
Liaison Advisor, providing special advising services for student athletes, including
priority registration, eligibility certification and long range planning to meet students
needs to further both academic and athletic careers.

Coordinated social and informative programming to bring together two very diverse
groups to promote understanding and interaction. Programs included theme dinners
and speakers series for adults. Also coordinated scholarship program in which
students from each background had to pair with the other to spend time together to
write joint essay. Recipients were chosen based on depth and richness of immersion
in combination with quality of essay. Coordination of these programs included event
planning, media communication and organization of representative committees.

Provided advising and promotion of all graduate programs in the College of Business.
Internally, this included working with students to communicate requirements and
assess academic progress. Externally worked to attract and educate potential new

students. Also worked with departmental representatives to refine current


programming, generate new programming and prepare college for AACSB audit.

Worked as part of three person team to advise and recognize current undergraduate
and graduate students, as well as recruit new students at both levels. Advising
included consistent interaction to communicate and monitor degree requirements and

Luncheons and Awards and Scholarship Evening. Planned and executed these in full.
Also composed advising handbook for current and future advisors.
