The teacher understands how learners grow and develop,
recognizing that patterns of learning and development
vary individually within and across the cognitive,
linguistic, social, emotional and physical areas, and
designs and implements developmentally appropriate and
challenging learning experiences"
RATIONAL STATEMENT
A tuition-free, publicly funded system that will provide an education to each child in a neighborhood school within a publicly
governed school system.
Parents and the general public can be involved in school activities and get detailed information about the schools in their area.
The public schools were founded in part to create an informed citizenry through a curriculum that formally promotes common
knowledge, skills and dispositions allowing for authentic engagement in the business of a democracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE
PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM IN A
DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY
Funding comes from the state, local, and federal
government.
Public school students must be offered a curriculum
and an environment free from the inculcation or
primacy of any specific religion, social class, or ethnic
group.
The ability to think critically, a sense of efficacy, a
commitment to compassionate action, and a desire to
actively participate in political life by engaging in local
decision-making processes, lobbying, voting, etc., as
well as the basic need to be able to read, write and do
arithmetic.
Children in Japan are required to attend school for nine years, from the
ages of 6 to 14 years old.
Last revision was in 2008 and 2009which increased the class hours in
Japanese language, social studies, mathematics, science and foreign
languages.
SIMILARITIES

The Japanese Ministry of Education for
Kindergarten states that the ultimate
goal of kindergarten education is the
