SAP BW Daily Monitoring Activities

1 Process Chain Monitoring
Login into the BW system
Execute RSPCM for monitoring process chain
Sort on Date Time
Check status of processes. (Green-Completed, Yellow-In Process, Red-Failed)
If it is red double click on the process chain
Double click on failed sub-process
Go to RSA1 and find reason for failure
For more details run ST22 to check the dump in BI as well as ECC system for user
ALEREMOTE
Run SM37 in BI and ECC system for ALEREMOTE user.
Review and resolve dumps

2 Run ST22 to check the dump in BI as well as ECC system for

user ALEREMOTE
In ECC system check dumps for ALEREMOTE.
In BI system check dumps for other bi users also along with ALEREMOTE in ST22.

3 Monitoring background jobs

Run SM37 in BI and ECC system for ALEREMOTE user. Review for cancelled and
critical jobs.

4 Check work-processes(started from sm51)

sm50 Process overview-- All work processes with a running or waiting status

5 Extents monitoring
db02 Database monitoring--Check for max-extents reached

6 Upload Data through CSV file.

SAP BW Weekly Activities

1. Check PSA of Data sources
SAP_PSA_PARTNO_CORRECT
Execute the report ZBW_IDENTIFY_PSA to identify PSAs/Change Log
Check PSA of data sources for Full Upload even though it is scheduled in Process Chain.

SAP BW Monthly Activities

1. Delete Statistical Data
Goto RSA1
Tools Settings for BI Statistics

Click on Delete Statistical Data Button.

Select options as below.
Select Date Selection and enter the date as previous months first day.

2. IEEMA Production Data

This data comes from Motor CMO and Transformer CMO. The data flow is illustrated below.
Support message is created by the end user in Solman. Reports are based on ZIC_M02
Copy file which is attached in the solman. File
should be in CSV format.
Check the data as below.
For Motor:
Division = 10, Value Type Reporting = 71,
Calendar day = last day of reporting month,
IEEMA groups as per definition, Base UoM =
EA.
Use infopackage ZIEEMA_PROD_MTR CSV.
For Transformer:
Division = 20, Value Type Reporting = 71,
Calendar day = last day of reporting month,
IEEMA groups as per definition, Base UoM =
EA.
Use infopackage ZIEEMA_PROD_DATA_TRF
