AbstractPLC was used much more than DCS in coal handling system in existing power plants. In this paper,
DCS and PLC were compared over technology and economy to better serve the construction bidding and project
implementation. Seen from the comparison results and the requirements of unified hardware platform, taking DCS
in coal handling system is the trend.
