    stronglyrecommendherforyourconsideration.

    Sequoiaprovedtobeanorganized,dedicated,andoutgoinginternatAvondaleHighSchool,
    whereshetaughtEnglish9andCreativeWriting.Sequoiaassumedfullresponsibilityforclasses
    secondsemesterdailydutiesincludedlessonplanning,grading,andcommunicatingwith
    parentsandadministration.Wehaveastrongcultureofcollaborationandalignmentinthe
    Englishdepartment,andSequoiaeasilybecameoneoftheteamandcontributedfreshideasto
    thegroupshegainedvaluableexperienceteachingCommonCorealignedMAISAunitsin
    freshmanEnglish,whilealsogettinganunderstandingoftheMAISAunitslearningprogression
    acrossgradelevels.ByteachingourCreativeWritingelective,Sequoiahadtheopportunityto
    createunitplansonherownandtoteachupperclassmen.Thesestudentteachingexperiences
    helptomakeheranidealcandidateforanysecondaryEnglishposition.

    Sequoiasstrengthsincludealoveofteachingliterature,creativityindesigningengaginglessons,
    andanamazingrapportwithstudents.Sheusesherstrengthstocreateapositiveclassroom
    climatewherestudentsfeelcomfortablebeingthemselves,yetunderstandthattheywillbeheld
    accountablefortheiractionsandtheirownlearning.Studentsknowthatshecaresaboutthem
    andaboutwhatsheteachesherdedicationisevidentinherplanning,delivery,andfeedbackon
    studentsassignments.Sequoiaknowswhentoaskforhelp,butshealsohastheconfidenceto
    tacklenewtasksheadonandtocollaboratewithveteranteachers.

    Sequoiaconsistentlydisplaysahighlevelofprofessionalism.Inallsituations,fromtalkingwith
    colleaguestomeetingwithparents,herdemeanorismatureandappropriate.Thishelpedother
    teachersseeherasacolleague,notjustanintern.Ihavebenefitedpersonallyandprofessionally
    fromsharingmyclassroomwithheroverthispastschoolyearIwouldgladlymakehera
    permanentmemberofmyEnglishdepartmentifIcould.


    ItiswithoutreservationthatIrecommendSequoiaColemantoyou.Shehasawarmpersonality,
    akindheart,andasenseofhumorpersonalqualitiesthatareespeciallyendearinginateacher
    thesetraitscombinedwithherabilitytoteachEnglishmakehertheidealcandidate.Iam
    confidentshewillbeanassettoanyschoolcommunityofwhichsheisapart,justasshewasat
    AHS.
