AILET 2016

AILET 2016 or All India Law Entrance Test 2016 will be conducted on
1 May, 2016 by the National Law University, Delhi. The Examination is

conducted for admissions into B.A LLB, One year LL.M and PhD offered at
National Law University, Delhi or NLU Delhi.
It is one of the most important National Level Law Entrance Examination in
India. The National Law University, Delhi or NLU, Delhi is the only National
Law University that still conducts its own entrance examination for
admissions and does not use the score of CLAT.
Last year over 18 thousand students appeared for AILET 2015 conducted
on 3 may, 2015. The AILET 2016 notification has been released on

13 October, 2015 providing information about the examination to be

AILET 2016 Application Form:
The AILET 2016 Application Form will be available from 1 January, 2016

on the NLU Delhi official website: www.nludelhi.ac.in .


The Application Form will be available only online and in no other mode.
The Candidates have to just fill in their basic information, upload
documents like photograph, signature etcetera. After completing the
Application Form the candidate needs to complete the payment for the
AILET 2016 Application Form.
AILET 2016 Eligibility
The AILET 2016 Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
AILET 2016 Eligibility Criteria for B.A LL.B are as follows:
1.

Maximum age limit of the applicant should be 21 as on 1 July of the

year of exam. For SC and ST candidates, age limit is 23 years.


2.

Applicant must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent exam.

3.

Aggregate exam of the applicant should be at least 50% to appear


in AILET.

4.

Even, students who will appear in class 12 board exam may also

appear in AILET 2015 BUT if he/she cracks the exam and was called
for an interview then they will have to bring the requisite documents to
prove that they have passed with 50% marks in the exam.
AILET 2016 Eligibility Criteria for LL.M are as follows:
1.

There is no age limit to appear in this exam.

2.

The candidate should have passed LLB or have equivalent degree


from a recognized university.

3.

Minimum marks should be 55% for SC& ST candidates its 50%.

AILET 2016 Eligibility Criteria for PhD are as follows:


1.

There is no age limit to appear in this exam.

2.

The candidate should have LLM degree or its equivalent degree with
at least 55%.

3.

Minimum marks for SC& ST candidates are 50%.

AILET 2016 Exam Pattern:


The AILET 2016 Exam Pattern for B.A LL.B is as follows:
The AILET 2016 for B.A LL.B will be 90 minutes duration objective test. It is
an offline or paper pencil based test. The Examination has five sections
and a total of 150 Multiple Choice Questions. There is a negative marking
of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
The AILET 2016 Exam Pattern for B.A LL.B Summary is as follows:
Total Questions: 150 MCQs
Time allotted: 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 Minutes)
Total Sections: Five (Mathematics, English, Logical Reasoning, General
Knowledge and Legal related studies)
Negative marking: 0.25 marks shall be deducted from the total marks for
every incorrect answer.

The AILET 2016 Exam Pattern for LL.M is as follows:


The AILET 2016 for LL.M will have 100 multiple choice questions and an
essay to be written. The duration of the examination is 90 minutes and will
have questions from the various subjects taught during the 5 year or 3 year
Law course in India. There are a total of 5 sections and a negative marking
of 0.25 for every wrong answer.

The AILET 2016 Exam Pattern for LL.M summary is as


follows:
Total Questions: 100 MCQs and 1 essay
Subjects: Law of contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law
& Legal Law.
Time allotted: 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 Minutes)
Total Sections: Five
Negative marking: 0.25 marks shall be deducted from the total marks for
every incorrect answer.
Exam Type: Objective
Marks Distribution: All the subjects together shall carry 100 marks & the
essay shall carry 50 marks.

AILET 2016 Admit Card:


The AILET 2016 Admit Card will be available for download on the NLU
Delhi Official Website: www.nludelhi.ac.in from 15 April, 2016. The

AILET 2016 Admit Card is very important as without the same a candidate
will not be allowed to sit in the examination.
The AILET Admit Card will contain the various details like Test Centre and
Instructions to be followed by the candidate during AILET.
AILET 2016 Result:
The AILET 2016 Result will be declared tentatively within 10 to 15 days of
the examination. The AILET 2016 Result will contain the candidates score
in AILET along with the All India Rank or AIR. As per the AILET 2016 Result
or AILET Merit List the candidates will be called for Counselling just after
the results are announced.
The AILET 2016 Result and Merit List will be declared online
on www.nludelhi.ac.in .
AILET 2016 Counselling:
The AILET 2016 Counselling Procedure will begin immediately after the
AILET 2016 Result is announced. The Counselling Procedure usually gets
completed within 3 or 4 Rounds. The Candidates are called for Counselling
based upon their Rank in AILET or All India Law Entrance Test. The
Candidates from all categories are called for counselling in separate merit
lists. Depending upon the candidates choice of accepting or leaving the
seat, the next candidates are called for counselling in next rounds
depending upon the vacancies.
