(Self-Smart)
Choose your favorite artist or art period. Write a self-reflection paper supporting why the artist
or art period is your favorite. Use the outline provide to establish the key components of the
reflection. Then, elaborate on each point to fulfill a full-length paper at least three paragraphs,
single-spaced with 1 margins, using 12point font. Use MLA formatting and remember to have a
Works Cited page listing all resources. When finished, create a button on your home page and
link your presentation to the button. Label the button with the full name of the artist or art
period.
Extra Credit Option: Compare and contrast two of your favorite artists or art periods.

a. When did the period begin (timeline)? 1870-1880
b. What interested people in this art period? People liked the unfinished look, and
how the nature and people looked in the artwork
c. Why was the art period important? It taught people to gain independence from the
general strict art rules, and to move away from traditional art work

Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Frederic Bazille

seemed neat to me, so I liked it

what I like or enjoy, and it usually inspires my artwork

artistic identity) They seem to have the same scenery, like nature and the same laid
back style

a. How you and the art period/artists work similar? How are you both different? Our
similarity is that we both use relaxed and more freely brush strokes. Our difference
is that I tend to have a slightly more finished look
b. How does the art period/artists work reflect how you see your style/artwork? My
artwork is more relaxed and has its own feel to it, which is how I see Imressionism
artworks
c. How does the art period/artists work influence how others see you? Impressionism
is about being who you are, and painting what you like and laid back. People see me
as laid back, and they see me do what I like no matter what the general rules are
d. In what way does this art period/artists work relate to your artistic identity? When
people see Impressionism artwork, they see something relating to nature or
something pretty that goes outside of the box. I feel as if that relates to my artistic
identity because I tend to use the same style and scenery
