WOW!!!

The Black Kolts have warmed up nicely for the semi-final

next week, with a quality footballing game, dominating
Winston HIlls with a convincing victory.
The finalists from the last couple of seasons couldnt go
with the Kolts, who got the foot down from the start. The last
three games have seen the Kolts kick it up a gear and really
get into matches from back to front. Every player in the
game day squads have worked hard, moving the ball,
maintaining possession, making early movements that gave
options across the park. If the ball was lost, the speed of the
Kolts to close down and win back the ball was crippling.
Winston Hills held on as long as they could, but eventually
the weight of possession tells...
The first for the Kolts came from a turnover, high up the
park....Vic swooping to opening the scoring. The strength
and movement in the box starting to hit top form.
Pressure form a couple of Kolts corners, saw Winsto
defending with their entire 11 in the box - a brilliant corner
from Naya that zinged in the air, found Dame cutting to the
near post....a pinpoint angled header finding the far post.
Donny played a brilliant ball in to Naya (the Scotsman
showing how comfortable he is slipping one through!). Naya
finding the net after skipping past the keeper down the left.
A couple of brilliant passing combinations with third man
running, left Winston Hills chasing shadows...and the Kolts
knowing the rewards would come late on from making them
work hard.
With 8 defenders shutting Trev down as he Cahill
volleyed a cross from Rich the Kolts could have gone in
another to the good, but unfortunately the finish went just
wide?

The second half saw the rewards for a near perfect first half. The first twenty continuing
the great ball movement and creating chances. Jaime found Vic and he again found a way
to dribble in the box and also a way to get a shot away.....toeing it in at the far post
shooting across the keeper - they all count!
Naya wanted more and after a sharp interchange with Vic, strode in on goal and
finished in the cool, calm way we have all become accustomed.
After a couple of near misses and spectacular saves from the Winsto keeper, Vic played
to Minol and he found a way to dribble a couple in the box and put the keeper on the
deck as his shot cannoned into the roof of the net.
The final goal was the best of the match as a ball from Donny to Naya on halfway saw
Naya cruising with the ball....and then drop down through the gears....and was gone! The
defence had no chance as he ran away....and the keeper had even less as Naya ran at
goal from the right and the inevitable far post finish came. Absolute quality for the man of
the match!
The comedy duo did their bit to entertain the crowd as the match wound down - Fewelly
and Dame lining up as centre forwards. Fewelly unlucky cannoning a header against the
crossbar and Dame finding the post after some quick passing around the box.
Vlad came on, after another 10 minute warm up....this time as sweeper!. He can claim
part of a clean sheet, even though he didnt get a touch!
The season has built nicely....now its time to kick it up another gear - next up the semi
against Toongabbie.
