Building Good Relationships


Self Esteem- Having a respectable amount of self esteem for yourself will make you more likely to be a factor for
building good relationships with co-workers and customers.
Self Awareness- Knowing your own personality and skills, including strengths and weaknesses, will allow you to
function at a higher efficiency.
Positive Attitude in the Workplace- A positive attitude is crucial for several reasons; customers respect and enjoy
it, co-workers enjoy working with positivity, and you are likely to get on your boss good side.
Initiative and Responsibility- Taking the initiative and taking responsibility allows other people to see you as a
worthy candidate of a leadership role and good relationships formed with other people.
Self-Control- Knowing what you can do and what you cannot do is crucial as well. Doing too little if one is shy or
believing that one can control more than actually possible, can create negativity and bad experiences.

Building Good Relationships

Creativity- Managers and co-workers love new ideas in the workplace. Even a little imaginative thinking on where
to stock the sweatshirts could result in good rep. Always keep thinking about new and possible ideas!
Time Management- The ability to manage your time well is a skill that is needed by everyone. Being able to
manage time wisely allows to prepare for any obstacles that are unexpected and increases efficiency.
Stress Management/Relief- Life is stressful; everyone encounters stress. But, how you endure and soothe the
stress is how good relationships can be enhanced. The ability to not release the product of large amounts of stress
on customers, co-workers, and even products is a factor in building good relationships.
Assertiveness- Being able to be assertive as a person within a respectable extent to where the receiver of the
message does not feel unnessarily overpowered and wronged is a great factor in building good relations while also
being a leader.
Flexibility- People feel much more comfortable and see you as more reliable when flexibility in your schedule and
abilities for the job is displayed.

Ethics in the 21st-Century Workplace


Honesty- It is important throughout the work place to be loyal and trustworthy to your co-workers. This
would prevent future social conflicts and problems that would affect the business
Respect- Respect is an important trait that a person should have for one another, respecting other
people will develop friendships ahead of time throughout the workplace. One should care for what their
co-workers thoughts are and to be positive at all times.
Fairness and Equity- One should treat their co-workers the same as one would treat your friend. No
matter what color, race, or gender your co-worker is, you should treat them all the same. This would
keep business flourishing.
Avoiding Stereotypes- Being able to avoid stereotypical comments and to see every individual as the
same is a critical factor for developing a good reputation as a business and a person.

Managing Conflict
Conflict and Negotiation- Analyzing a conflict, regardless of what it is and who is involved, and being
able to negotiate and compromise is a priceless skill for a leader. Negotiation allows for the conflict to be
minimized.
Speaking- In order to work effectively while minimizing communication errors relies heavily on the ability
to speak loudly, clearly, comfortably, and with being hostile. Customer service is only possible through
effective speaking.
Listening- The ability to be patient and listen to all sides of the confliction is important because it avoids
biased decisions. Also, if someone is speaking to you and they realize that you are making eye contact
them and making it apparent that you are listening, respect is expressed as mutual.

Interpersonal Skills in Marketing


Addressing Customers Concerns- It is very important to help customers with their concerns or
questions. One must have the knowledge about their business well enough to be a valuable helper to
your customer. A worker has to be prepared for any possible questions a customer may has to ask.

Addressing Customers Complaints- If a customer ever comes in and has a complaint towards the
company, you as a worker must stay calm and try your best to resolve the problems. If the complaint is
reasonable, it would be important as a business to come together and try to improve.

Teamwork
Training- Practicing towards a specific goal or to advance in a specific topic, subject, area, job, etc. This
is important since someone has to work hard to achieve a specific goal and it does not come easily.
Team Planning- All members of a group working together to build a plan to achieve a goal or to figure
something out. This is important so their is no confusion and everything is organized, so the actions will
be carried out more smoothly.
Team Goals- A certain achievement that all members of a group would like to reach or surpass. This is
important since it gives the group something to work towards.
Assigning Roles- Giving a specific job to a person that they need to carry out in to complete a project,
reach a goal, etc. This is important so the job will be completed more quickly and more sufficiently.
Agreements- An agreement is coming to a compromise. This is important so the team can come to their
conclusions that will benefit them the most, and no one will be left out if everyone complies to the same
thing.

Teamwork
Shared Responsibility- This means more than one person on a team carry out the same task. Therefore,
the duty can be carried out quicker and be done more sufficiently since they have another person to
check on their mistakes
Shared Leadership- This is when more than one person of a team share the leading role. Therefore, they
can come to a compromise on what is best for the team without only having one person make all of the
decisions.
Feedback- This is the response to something. Feedback is important; for example, if a company is
putting out a new product, they want to receive feedback to know if they should keep producing the
product and if it is benefitting society.

Leadership Skills
Being a Valuable Team Member- This means that a person is carrying out their specific duty and putting
in full effort to complete a project or accomplish a goal. This is important in order to achieve goals and
to know that the work is being done adequately.
