    These can be conceived of as schemas for sexual events and concepts. They serve
    to direct ones behavior and provide a lens to interpret the behavior of others.

    Token Resistance
    When a woman says no but actually says yes.

    Marianismo
    The expectation that women be sexually pure and controlled.

    Sexual Double Standard


    When women were castigated for ever straying beyond the sexual life of their
    marriage, whereas men were expected to do so.

    Clitoridectomy
    Cutting away the clitoris.

    Excision
    Cutting away the inner lips of the vulva
