NEXT MATCH
v Dundas

Kellyville today continued their solid start to

the season. with a 3-1 victory over Greystanes.

the opposition, invited the Greys striker to slot into an

empty net (he told me not to hold back in this report).

Prior to the game, the dressing room preparation saw

Nolan struggling to find shorts, lose his boot and then
matching an orange shirt with red shorts. This was all after
he put his eyes in! The rest of us probably should have seen
what was to come.

Kellyville shrugged it o and pushed on... Harry

whipped in some outstanding corners and freekicks to
keep the pressure on. Trev and Jaime hit strikes that would
have been goals against any other keeper.

A sharp start to the game, saw two touch passing and

sharp running and had Greystanes chasing shadows. Our
captain steered the ship - keeping the shape and getting
the talk right from all.
Naya kept taking them on (and carving them up)
down the right, providing quality ball to Vic and Doriano.
Harry, Jaime and Alex dominated possession in the centre
of the park (again). Clever movement from all allowed
Noons, Dame and Fewelly to play into midfielders feet and
channels to the front. Greystanes, when they got the ball,
tried to play long, which made it easy for our backline as
they dominated in the air and re-started attacks.
After 15 minutes Vic ran into the area with a shot on
his left....he checked came back to his right and finished
with a superbly placed shot to the left of the keeper.
Five minutes later another sharp attack down the right
saw Doz provide yet another goal, laying o to Vic to
finish his second. 2-0
Everybody was committed to not dropping o and
allowing Greystanes back into the game. The passing and
movement was still sharp with some half chances created.
Fewelly set the standard in defence and starting attacks.
A back pass to Nolan soon reminded everyone that he
had had a lot of trouble dressing himself earlier and we all
should have seen it coming!, His elephant touch straight to

After the break Kellyville continued to push forward.

Jaime beat half a dozen on the right and went to the left
looking for a goal scorer - he found Trev! (Surprisingly, only
one mention in this report till now!)....looking up and
seeing defenders charging across to cover his left foot, Trev
dummied left, stepped back in on to his right and looked
up.... knowing that the chances of him curling a shot from
here around defenders, past the keeper and probably
having to hit the post on the way in.... were definitely
remote - he went for it anyway!
It went in! 3-1 up
The subs came on to see out the game. Vlad and Bolty
being the game closers. Vlad setting the example, pulling
every dance move he knew as he ran to the corner with 20
minutes remaining. The dive/fall at the end was
unbelievably waved play on. Doriano followed his great
example and ran to the same corner, unfortunately he fell
in the hole left by Vlad and actually won a free kick!!!
Bolty (our coach and chief selector) was outstanding,
not a player got by him, as he covered the tired legs that
kicked in with 10-15 minutes to play.
Man of the match voting was debatable. Three players
were in the running as Fewelly, Trev and Donny got votes.
With Donny not providing any real highlights this week
the award was split.
PS. Jez....first touch!
