LETTER FROM PUBLIC

AFFAIRS

Greetings cadets and cadet staff, this school

year has started off great. Since the arrival of
new cadets, the program has started to
flourish. Uniforms have been issued to every
cadet as seen when walking on campus. While
cadets are in the JROTC program, we
encourage and motivate them to be engaged in
extracurricular activities and academics. We
look forward to becoming more involved in
school and also in the community. The
information provided will give detailed
notification of our unit throughout this semester.
Thank you & enjoy!

Veterans Day Event

November 11 was Veterans Day, its a day
where veterans who served in World War 2
and even the Vietnam War gets recognizes
for their service. So on that day our cadets
came out of their busy schedule and
volunteered their time to serve and talk to
some veterans at Applebees and Golden
Corral. It was an excellent experience for
the cadets because they got to talk to
veterans and hear their stories when they
were in the war. Hearing their stories was
heartbreaking because they went through a
lot, they lost close friends and suffered from
pain and being disable. Our color guard
presented the colors at Golden Corral. The
color guard team as a whole felt honored
when they performed because they were
giving respect to the veterans. All the
veterans felt proud because they saw
cadets volunteering their time to give back
and become the future of our country.

sacrificed their live for the country. The color guard

personal stories of the war.

Commander
DRILL TEAM
As the drill team commander, practices
are going well, they are improving, but
progressively. My goal is to bring home a
trophy and turn our bad luck around. My
team and I now are learning columns,
after that they pretty much know
everything else, they just need practice

SYMPHONY FIELD TRIP

On November 10, a selected number of
cadets were chosen to attend JROTC
Symphony field trip. The event took place at
Parkers Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale. The
Westpoint chorus and band performed
selectively for JROTC cadets and attendees.
Afterwards the cadets were allowed to
interact with the Westpoint students and
receive valuable advice. It was a great honor
for everyone who went to have the privilege
to see these individuals perform and
everyone had a great time.

C/Capt. Kurtz

As the color guard commander, my practices are

productive yet a lot of fun, and we get a consistent
number of cadets per day. The cadets in color guard
are motivated, dedicated, and ready to take on the
most prestigious work in JROTC. What I want to
accomplish as a commander is making my team
members of color guard the best of what JROTC has
to offer and to make them future accomplished
cadets.
