andculturalbiaseswhileobservingorteasing.Whenteachersdonotincorporate
childrensculturalexperiencesintoclassroomlife,allchildrenmissouton
opportunitiestounderstandthepeoplearoundthem.Byignoringthedifferencesin
behavior,communicationstyleandbeliefscreatedbyculture,teacherscanrunthe
rickofcreatingconflictsandbarriersonthepartnershipwithfamilies.True
partnershipswithfamiliescomewhenteachersgenuinelyattempttolearnand
understandtheideasthatarecentraltoeachfamilysexperience.
