Practicum Learning Goals

Special Education: I want to understand the appraisal process for

a special education teacher, as well as the monitoring of special
education teachers progress monitoring, etc. Knowing both the
identification process as well as the monitoring of resource
teachers will help me no matter where my leadership takes me.

Diversity: Mental health specifically is becoming so much more

prevalent than it ever was before. It is imperative for all educators
to understand the variety of mental health diagnoses and the
correct ways to handle students or parents/guardians who have a
mental illness.

Curriculum: In my role as facilitator for Classroom Instruction That

Works, I will continue to train my staff on effective instructional
strategies. This position allows me to not only instruct my
colleagues, but also observe them, and assist them in answering
their questions about my presentations. In order to answer their
questions I must contact other educators to find answers, or
research on my own the way to help answer their questions.
