The sports development is a RMTU campus sports program. It covers the
recruitment and training of varsity athletes and the participation of athletes in a selected sports events. It also covers the safety of all equipments, and facilities used by the players and athletes. Sports development officers aim to provide opportunities for participation in sports for all sections of the community. They distribute information and organise sport-related projects, classes, programmes, coaching, club development and training. The main thrust of the study is to determine the existence of significance between the manual and computer-based system level of efficiency to identify which of the two is better in accomplishing tasks related to the department of sports. According to the head of the office there is no computer-based system for inventory of sports equipments and monitoring of athletes. Though the information gathered the researchers sought the need of improvement and modification to replace the existing system which is the manual system into a computer-based system that will provide simple yet very useful in terms of security, accuracy, speed in processing data and user friendly in accomplishing task. This process will lessen the time and effort of the staff. Which are normally wasted in manual processing, with the application of technology the Sports Development program will surely provided a secured and user friendly system that will meet their needs.
