Categorization
Students will write food and drinks together
with their quantities in their fridge at their
homes.

By using concept map and infographic, teacher explains the topic. After
tutorial, teacher will give a sentence by using there is/there are related to
the topic and then a different food and drink name for the same sentence. He
or she asks students to make necessary changes in the sentence (multiple-slot
substitution drill). Students internalize the quantifiers through the techniques
named multiple-slot substitution drill. Students will go through categorization
activity. In this activity, students will pick some cards on which names of food
and drinks are written. Students will be asked to put their cards into one of
two boxes named countable and uncountable. The group which makes the best
categorization will get the highest grade. Lastly, teacher will give a quiz as a
measurement tool. At the end of the lesson, teacher asks students to write
food and drinks together with their quantities in their fridge at their homes. If
things dont go as planned, teacher prints out the materials and gives them to
the students as handouts.
