with dignity in discharging her duties. She engages in reflective practices to seek improvement
in her teaching pedagogy and classroom management. Hence she has been very keen in
attending workshops and has shown active involvement and participation during workshops.
Miss Lin portrays a pleasant and respectful image of a teacher. She is cheerful and caring
towards her children. She also practises proactive communication skills in engaging parents in
the children's holistic development. She is also respected by her peers for the camaraderie,
selflessness and cheerfulness.
to use technology and innovative methods to arouse and sustain the interest of the
children and to accomplish her reports productively. She is receptive and adaptable to
challenges and learns actively from her peers and superior. For example she has also been given
the opportunity to lead a concert dance item and she took up the challenge to make it a success.

She has also been assigned important and responsible tasks such as minute taking and leading
mass assembly. lmportantly, she has been able to meet tight timeline and schedules most
of
the time.
Miss Lin is also a team player who renders support to her peers in preparing materials and the
learning environment. During the short period at the centre, Miss Lin has played key roles in the
preparation for SPARK certification which we achieved in Oct 2013. Her commitment and
dedication have contributed to success of the attainment of SPARK certification.
Evidently, Miss Lin's commendable traits of her personal qualities can be seen in her roles,
conduct and contributions. Despite her being new in the industry, Miss Lin's positive attitude
and motivation has set a benchmark for young and newly graduated early childhood educators.
She possesses drive, determination and self-motivation in developing herself in the early

I am writing this letter to recommend my best junior, Miss Lin for your Early Childhood Scholarship
offered by ECDA, in collaboration with Singapore lnstitute of Technology (SlT). Miss Lin is currently a
student in Wheelock College doing a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education under SlT"
Miss Lin was serving PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Woodgrove Blk 8998 from 2 April 2012 to 27 June
2014" During her stint with us, she has shown commitment and dedication to the profession" She showed
willingness to put in extra time and effort to help the centre with the daily tasks and to achieve SPARK
in 2013. The centre even recognized her efforts by presenting her with the Good Attendance Award in
2013.
Being her senior, mentoring her was a breeze as she was cooperative and supportive. Miss Lin has shown
positive learning attitude. When sharing about her performances, she shows positive attitude to improve
on her teaching strategies and classroom management. I believe that her discipline and diligence will be
an exemplary to the other students in Wheelock College and at the same time, providing her with an
opportunity to enhance her pedagogy.
During her stint with us, she has had the opportunity to work with children of different needs. ln 2013,
she assisted a class with a child with Autism. ln 2014, she was helping a child who showed high levels of
energy and impulse. She shared that she has no experience but she demonstrated enthusiasm and
patience when handling them. She often seeks the help of her seniors and I believe that Wheelock
College can equip her with more knowledge, allowing her to be a more successful practitioner.
While mentoring her, Miss Lin has shared about her personal interest in Arts. lt can be seen when she
was seen teaching Music lessons and Speech and Drama lessons. After the workshops on Music and
Speech and Drama, Miss Lin can be seen using the teaching strategies in her lessons. Her students
respond well to it and can be heard sharing the stories with other teachers in the centre. Her drive to
continuously improve on her teaching strategies shows that she adopts a reflective practice. This shows
the traits of a passionate teacher, wanting to continuously improve for the benefit of the children.
confident that you will be impressed by her as much as I did. Working with her, I can feel her passion
and love for children. She will excel in the industry and the scholarship should be given to deserving
