Letter of Recommendation for Miss Lin Yan Jiao LS927152322I

I am writing this letter to recommend my best junior, Miss Lin for your Early Childhood Scholarship
offered by ECDA, in collaboration with Singapore lnstitute of Technology (SlT). Miss Lin is currently a
student in Wheelock College doing a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education under SlT"
Miss Lin was serving PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Woodgrove Blk 8998 from 2 April 2012 to 27 June
2014" During her stint with us, she has shown commitment and dedication to the profession" She showed
willingness to put in extra time and effort to help the centre with the daily tasks and to achieve SPARK
in 2013. The centre even recognized her efforts by presenting her with the Good Attendance Award in
2013.
Being her senior, mentoring her was a breeze as she was cooperative and supportive. Miss Lin has shown
positive learning attitude. When sharing about her performances, she shows positive attitude to improve

on her teaching strategies and classroom management. I believe that her discipline and diligence will be
an exemplary to the other students in Wheelock College and at the same time, providing her with an
opportunity to enhance her pedagogy.
During her stint with us, she has had the opportunity to work with children of different needs. ln 2013,
she assisted a class with a child with Autism. ln 2014, she was helping a child who showed high levels of
energy and impulse. She shared that she has no experience but she demonstrated enthusiasm and
patience when handling them. She often seeks the help of her seniors and I believe that Wheelock
College can equip her with more knowledge, allowing her to be a more successful practitioner.

While mentoring her, Miss Lin has shared about her personal interest in Arts. lt can be seen when she
was seen teaching Music lessons and Speech and Drama lessons. After the workshops on Music and
Speech and Drama, Miss Lin can be seen using the teaching strategies in her lessons. Her students
respond well to it and can be heard sharing the stories with other teachers in the centre. Her drive to
continuously improve on her teaching strategies shows that she adopts a reflective practice. This shows
the traits of a passionate teacher, wanting to continuously improve for the benefit of the children.
confident that you will be impressed by her as much as I did. Working with her, I can feel her passion
and love for children. She will excel in the industry and the scholarship should be given to deserving
I am

teachers like her.
