The Eighth International Graphic Triennial in Bitola, marks its twenty years of
existence, period in which some kind of
completion of collective artistic expression,
formed by countless ecliptic of constant
finding, confession, sensuality, desire to
transcend the banal, and finally to reach
the real deep communication in harmony
with everything.
The presence of about 5,000 authors from
around the world up to now, with a much
higher number of works, today examined
in an anthological way, re-examined,
revived again, looks like a kind of reminiscence of the Sisyphean human obsession
to be in what we still so ambitiously call
civilization.
Throughout the past twenty years, consistently and with metronomic repeatability
was set the belief or the thought that the
sum of the painting art, the presence of the
culture, the creativity, can change, can ennoble, can devise the human existence.
All the previous efforts of the authors to
prove or to reach the unattainable, noticed
here through diaries - catalogues, is more
and more inundated with thick impenetrable dust of oblivion, indifference, nothingness.

The Eighth Triennial although attempts

by the presence of impeccable and diverse
aesthetics and the latest voice of hope or
ego, who knows, to create or to provide
some excuse for its existence and the existence of art in general, today, it seems, in
very strong, solid and convincing accurate
determinations of any kind - not only does
it fail to step forward in disrupting of the
overall density of the misty disappearance,
but, paradoxically, by trying to prove that
in any attempt having the smallest content
of the cultural context, precipitously moves
to the rapid and definitive oblivion and
needless.
After twenty years, taking into account the
overall indifference of all possible urban
landscapes of human vanity and always
glorious ambition for fame, power and
greed to material fairs, today we wonder whether and who really needs these
anachronous events, and for what? So far
and retrograde versus the faster and faster,
and celebrity Atlantean progress.
Vlado Goreski

PORTRAITS

Bitola Graphic Triennial is some kind of a

phenomenon because in its twenty years of
existence, and in its strange, sincere and incomprehensible self-preservation, somehow
it succeeded to come into view, to confirm its
existence with dignity and honesty throughout
the major art centres.
Slobodan Jevti has significantly, almost fundamentally contributed to this, and primarily he has invested deeply human, honest and
noble efforts. He is the man who, together
with Herman Hebler, Witold Skulicz, Bogdan
Kri, Ventseslav Antonov, have succeeded to
discover, preserve, develop and place it into the
deepest spaces of the dignity, the overall metaphysics of the graphic work.
In his Chamalires in France, he succeeds to
attract, to collect, to preserve all testamentary
lines of the human art speech, left as precise
topography of our joy, sufferings, traumas,
beliefs.
His triennial in scope, comprehensiveness,
sincerity, today resembles to a new Alexandrian
library which houses numerous paper recordings of the humankind from several centuries.
It is not by chance that his work moves so easy,
freely and convincingly through the cosmic
space since very long time.
He is like immortal alchemist who succeeds to
overtake the secret codes of the Renaissance,
creating up to this day a heavenly, rainbow
bridge through which we may really need to go

one day, to get to the source of light as one of

our rescue runs.
His paintings, works are not canvas, but some
kind of mantras for the salvation of all our
views and less and less preserved feelings.
He is the author, who has seen the stellar
alphabets and has realized the infinity of the
heavens longing sunrise. He is a dedicated
author, meaning continuous, permanent living
and dreaming with the artwork, this continuity
that as some heaven ritual converts his constant painting attempt in repeated and repeated
levitation to those distant areas to which our
look was always oriented, staring, yearning.
That levitating, weightless, floating muse comes
from Olympus, from which mythology and
mysterious reality, Slobodan is writing the new
cosmic Odyssey, his painting, artistic travelling
ecstasy, in which or through which the nostalgia or the roadmap to Ithaca is a new constellation where the eternity exists just for that thin
thread of the tender, extra-light, pure love. His
journey, often lasts for decades, for centuries,
and then comes back with new Marcopolian
Millions, relating us by colour and line of the
new Silk Road, which is as many light years
away as our hearts is away from the first real
and eternal love. Today his courage and tireless
creative poetic collectionism today is before us
as a new star pearls from which and for which
the life can get a new transparent crown of
eternity.

ITG B
In the same tone, Slobodan is permanently
speaking the road of our small, modest Graphic Triennial too, not to hear the unnecessary
echo of affirmation, but to listen the speech of
the sincerity, the connection and the necessity,
despite all and everything.
We dedicate the Eighth Graphic Triennial Bitola 2015 to Slobodan Jevti to his immense
and unrepeatable work and to his graphic Alexandria in Chamolires.
Vlado Goreski

PORTRAITS

Thats is why the graphic Chamolires exists, his

graphic Triennial Palace - there he places, there
he stores all reminiscences of the universe, of
the creative moments that last longer than the
solar life, to bring the authors and to relate
them in long that the graphics and the painting
are not to enlighten only museum or gallery
halls, but also to discover to us the life of all
stars which have the names of all of us, to those
who we have been, who we are, and who we
will be in the future noticed through the sky
blue.

PORTRAITS

Ventseslav Antonov is one of the most important, pure graphic artists, not by the permanent,
virtuous and honed technical and media access,
but by the intellectual precise expression, created in a systematic, widespread and profound
mental chronology that selects the art only as
background or talk for a much deeper, more
durable and stronger trace.
His energetic moves are multilayer, rebellious,
exalted, gleaming, unpredictable, authentic,
seismically accurate.
The authors who succeed to summarize and to
crystallize all human knowledge through the
centuries, in a new and more durable wisdom
are rare. In fact, they are the bridges that can
be found through the times of the future, the
nowadays and the future. Antonov freely moves
around this celestial, but still not clear pace,
freely moves through all phenomena of the life
and the death, praising them to a totally different level and heights where nor life is something that is so crushed and disappears, nor the
death is something that forever leaves in nothingness. To ask, to prove these spiritual metamorphoses, which are the essential theologicalphilosophical-scientific problem, it is not just
courage, but most often it is persistent hopelessness. Antonov through many graphics succeeds
to touch some wordless, dematerialized worlds,
quite easy, without pathetic and with conviction. His graphic works seems to come from
new, yet undiscovered continents, unknown
by their spaces and other life which apparently,

listing the Ventseslavs diary, not only exist, but

longingly await our far meeting, as consolation,
as a new sense, as the beginning of something
that we fled so long, terrified, lost.
He is one of the few authors who succeeds to
unify the momentum, the spontaneity, the
devotion, with incredible precision, clean,
clear thought which freely moves through all
the labyrinths of the human dust, mysticism,
metaphysics, spirituality, philosophy, ironic pessimism - all dedicated through a long sequence,
starting with the light traces of the Prague
Academy, the spiritual and creative correlation
with Alan Bronowski, all over to the shores
of the Black Sea and his looking after, no the
golden fleece, but after the overall dark, dense
layers, layers deposited as constantly repeated
human destiny forever buried with the black
density of the waves and the clay sediment of
the meaninglessness of the human material and
short presence versus the overall mythology of
the sea infinity.
Just due to this, his graphic expression is reduced to a specific, authentic, unique expression like shamanic travel to the areas that are
not much known to mortals.
Ventseslav Antonov, in fact, by the graphical
erosion, constantly writes some spiritual precise
maps, which, if the humanity does not completely fall into the already begun epidemics of
forgetfulness and indifference, one day will be
graphic compasses to the Sun, which may still

We return to this author over again, one of

the most significant graphic artists in the past
century, because he left, in the twenty years of
existence of the Graphic Triennial Bitola, deep
traces, not only by his creative work, but also
personally, with his large experience and incredible personality that was always, even in the
most difficult and the most hopeless moments
in the existence of the exhibition, he restored
our faith in the graphic sheet.
His spiritual presence, here in Bitola, in the
graphic odyssey, is present even today, perhaps more and deeper than before, because his
work was far ahead of the time, because his
work comes from a completely different mental
space, because he succeeded to hearken and to
see some evolutionary light through which and
with which, maybe one day we will overcome
our more and more modest life, life which instead of sublime traces leaves rather sublime
and more and more numerous defeats.

With his extensive, comprehensive, noble

Graphic Triennial in Fredrikstad, Norway, he
was one of the pillars of the preservation and
survival of the world graphic art.

His opus, compact, powerful, unchanging and

deeply harmonious, is a kind of encyclopedia of
sublimated, concentrated, heroic in the human
thought, almost universal thought. His work is
still not truly touched, understood, interpreted.
Is there enough time to discover all his secret
messages which usually collected, placed in
some less tangible areas, resemble to complex
and grandiose symphonies which are as a kind
of reflection of the endless twilight sky before
the new universe that is slowly coming, to take
us, to guide us where, long ago were enrolled all
thoughts of the divine?

The beginning and perhaps the most sincere

reason for the emergence of Bitola Graphic
Triennial, was the virginal almost childish fascination of the existence of Ljubljana Graphic
Biennial. From the queue of people waiting in
front of the Modern Gallery, from the incredible world echoes, from the incredible art
celebration and joy that spread also through
the green shores of Tivoli, Zoran Krinik succeeded to mould the dream and to light it with
some strange skill, a skill of a medieval master
which irradiated all of us.

humanism, to connect the worlds and prove

that not only it is possible, but also to show that
it is just one of the few possibilities and conceptions.

In the former Yugoslavia, apart the numerous cultural, creative phenomena, Ljubljana
Graphic Biennale was kind of fascination and
a phenomenon which had success in world
frames, with confidence and with some timeless

The man with such faith and power began

to create a new art system, Zoran Krinik,
almost his entire belief, his entire life, connected and dedicated just to this event. Never
thinking to give a similar relativity with world
similar events, but rather to discover that new
planet called Graphics, because not long before
him, it was considered to be some random,
spontaneous and insufficiently persuasive art
gesture. It can be freely said that Krinik, in
world frames, not only did rehabilitate the
graphic art, but also gave it a new spiritual and
philosophical dimension, which in Slovenian,

deeper, large space, often succeeding to express
what the painting did very rarely and hardly.
It is not by accident, after the emergence of
the Kriniks biennale, the unique Ljubljana
Graphics School appeared, as well as a huge
number of graphic artists from Slovenia, who
touched, very reliantly and convincingly, the
world artistic movements with strong, deep,
unrepeatable graphic monuments. All of them

ness, and speed most accurately and extensively in this medium. He never keeps a topic
to analyse or examine it to its end, but to vary
through all aspects of its known and unknown
existence. He is in an eternal creative quest. He
poses or leaves art problems to us, he gathers
them, processes, finalizes, spreads them across
multiple cycles in the form of a comprehensive
album of creative study. Through the digital record, he can replenish his creative album, diary,
with his numerous reflections on a daily basis.
His cycling work is always with a certain metaphorical energy, sublimated, pictorial, intense,
large...
In semiotic terms, he upgrades the postmodern
by inserting specific topography, signage and
association with approximate transcendental
content, often transformed in some associative, balanced and interconnected elements as a
basis for specific and original composition.
In fact, his specific conceptualism incredibly
accurately manages to balance the art, poetic
and literary extracts that transforms, elevates
the graphic sheet to a new creative expression
which seems to open a bit the doors for us of
the new painting home.
In the visual emancipation, he starts mostly
from the level of the archetypes to reach the
purified, crystallized, and wisely built artistic
expression. In such a quantum a new dimen-

sion is visible, liberating and with new perspective similar to the musical expression, which is
like a cathartic repeated hymnicity addressed to
the desalienation of the modern man, trapped
in the iron lattice structures of the being.
Insisting on the numerous cycles as some kind
of poetry collections, actually reveal his eternal
obsession with the themes and the worlds that
are beside us, which are announced by barely
visible, small gleams, and his constant creative alertness already succeeded through the
numerous chronology of its prints, to compile
some kind of new map of the future spiritual
universe.
Through the numerous cycles, numerous collections of poetry graphic signages, he exceeds
convincingly and consistently the time, revealing us the overall colourfulness and symbolics
of the still undiscovered future.
His energy, his complete freedom and artistic
purity, rhythm and motive wealth, is like a
kind of therapeutic mirror whose internal and
permanent light is opposite to the heavier and
heavier painful dullness of todays everyday
routine.

Jan Pamula continues to dream and to replenish the dream of Witold Skulicz, preserving the
overall graphics archive of Krakow, which is
like a kind of translucent, transparent safe of
the worlds oeuvre.
His art, graphic expression has deep and homogenous continuity which with its stability
proves and confirms its strong creative firmness, originality, confidence and crystallized
durability.

Each of his work, despite the wealth of the

polyphonic significance, possesses a specific
wealth of cyclicity, joined in a particular compositional system in which the macrocosm and
microcosm are intertwined and united in the
one and unique universe, showing and proving
that there is no real space or real time, and that
everything is within a kind of Spinozas universe.

Unburdened by all the possibilities of artisMostly working in digital media, not to examtic expression, he is a kind of chronicle of the

There is something in the work, in the creation,

in the way the artist, for what we think little,
very little consideration, live. That is the way
of the so-called individual, authors creative
evolution. There in it, it is deposited, preserved,
nurtured, the total time of the author; from the
first line, the first draw, shape, composition,
forms, until the discovery of the first sounds
of poetics, until the discovery of those worlds
aboveground or underground that are as a
heavenly call of the worlds over us, over our
humble poor reality. That personal evolution
of the real artist, sometimes, perhaps is more
important, more dramatic and more essential
of all geographical discoveries of the humanity,
because it is the path of the soul which always
brings us to the Reality of the Promised Land.
Can we recognize it today, see it, discover it?

sunrise (which announces a day heating sometimes several generations), painting sunrise
coming as cure, as serenity, as optimism and as
a real wake-up in the worlds which are dreaming us and so gently, long, long, expecting us.
It is timeless melancholy of Nadeda Petrovi,
who seems to come from the Angel when she
looked at the Man for the first time. That is
the metaphysical ocean of Milena Barili who,
beneath all colorful vibrations and changes
of the light through the gentle, brittle almost
transparent bodies, is talking to us from the
distances. Her heart vibrations, her love, will
reach us later on, because they come from the
future where the records of the incorporeal deities are. The work of Milka, somehow builds-up
this bright triptych, where the harmony and the
quiet music of the constellations are.

Milka Vujovi consistently marks a specific

creative path which moves to the opposite
direction of the time, path which knows the
initial punctuation of the light and its conditions: from transparent condensation and sad
thoughtfulness in front of the tender tears of
the time which are depositing in the underground, hidden lake of the melancholy , all over
up to the gentle, shimmering, almost virgin
light that emanates from all rainbow flights of
the female universe, light which does not draw,
but light glowing of the life itself, of the view,
of the love, of the touch. In the Serbian (Yugoslav) painting there are several examples of real

Her overall work is a great metamorphosis,

some kind of different birth or transformation
of the light, which is usually on the other side,
the other side where the real life is, it is light
which confirms the symbolic of its eternity
through pure gold fund, through the gentle
blue which discovers, foliates all renaissance
memories that come through the constant
murmur of the little waves which carry the
entire Venetian purple herbarium that never
fades, through the eternal connection of bodies which is just a proof that there is no small

on our Balkans area who left and who leave
