Committee: OAS
OAS stands for organization of American States.
Originally founded over a hundred years ago, it has a
total of 12 states members, who of which included
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Costa
Rica. It currently has 35 independent nations in the
American states.
The objective of this committee is to develop and
hopefully strengthen strategic alliances between
nations.
Committee: DISEC
DISEC stands for Disarmament and International
Security. The DISEC committee primarily seeks to
develop solutions through the voluntary cooperation
and agreement of member states.
The purpose of this committee is to regulate potential
threats that could disrupt international peace, stability,
as well as address issues of war and armed conflict. For
example, one main priority was to solve political
aftermath of World War ll. DISEC has all 192 United

Immigration Policy:
El Salvador, being one the countries people have
immigrated from, has an interesting intake on this. Family
reunification is a common theme not only with the El
Salvadorian President Salvador Sanchez Caren, but with
Honduras and Guatemalas President as well. Salvadoran
President Salvador Sanchez Ceren told reporters after a
meeting with Vice President Joe Biden last month, that it
should be easier for immigrant parents in the U.S. to

Drug Policy:
Being that El Salvador is part of Central America,
there are routes that drug smugglers use to transport
illegal drugs in and out of the country. El Salvador,
Honduras, and Guatemala are referred to as the Northern
Triangle of Central America. Any shipments of cocaine or
heroin taking a land route from Colombia or one of the
other drug-producing South American countries must
pass through El Salvador or Honduras and then continue
on through Guatemala on their way to North America. The
North Triangle is the main resource of intense drugrelated violence. The U.S, Mexican and Columbian
Governments started to go after the big Mexican and
Columbian cartels that were moving through this route.
As a result, smaller cartels began to develop, helping
them easily change routes and procedures. They also
started to offer Salvadorians a cut of the profit, if the help
handle shipments, keeping the drugs at home.

El Salvador did not have any direct solutions that
could solve the problem effectively, but did agree with
