Ans:
Line direction can be obtained by cross product of the two planes i.e.
(1 1 1) X (1 1 1
) = [1 0 1
] (this is the line direction of the dislocation)
Plane of the resultant lock can be obtained by cross product of line direction and burger vector of the
dislocation. Hence
Plane = [1 0 1
] X [1 0 1] = (0 1 0)
Clearly, the above resultant dislocation is sessile because it does not lie on a (1 1 1) plane.
