A statistical study was conducted to determine if the variables of cost and how a person receives their pizza affect where the student buys their pizza from. The variables that are going to be studied are the price range of the pizza and how students prefer to receive their pizza. The study will not include a control group, and there is no possibility of the placebo effect.

consisted of determining if the variables of cost and how a student receives their pizza affect where the student buys their pizza. We decided that our population would be the entire class because we believed that by having a larger number of students answer our survey, we would receive more reliable data. Based on our individuals of interest, we are hoping to figure out or eliminate the variables that determine where students in the Statistics and Probability class order pizza from. The variables that are going to be studied are the price range of the pizza and how students prefer to receive their pizza. Our variables are quantitative variables because we are trying to determine the number of students per price range and how they receive their pizza. Based upon our study, it made the most sense to survey the entire population because with a small class, we wanted to make sure that our data was as accurate as possible. Our datas level of measurement would be nominal and ordinal because the data collected can be organized into groups based upon name, labels, or categories. It also can be categorized based upon ranking. For example, when the student chose their favorite place to order pizza, they had to rank the pizza places in order to make a final decision. Our study will not include a control group, and there is no possibility of the placebo effect. A double blind study will not be necessary. Confidentiality and privacy concerns were not a concern for us when we collected our data. Autumn and I decided to do a survey to gather our information. In choosing this technique, we felt that we
would be able to quickly and accurately gather
information from our classmates. A survey also allowed us to learn a new surveying technique, Google Forms. The survey we sent out consisted of three questions: what is your favorite pizza place, do you prefer dine-in, carryout, or delivery, and what is the price range that you are willing to spend on a pizza ordered. Once all of the responses were received, we noticed that the price and how a person receives their pizza arent determining variables that affect where the students in the Statistics and Probability class order pizza. This meant that out of all of the variables to be chosen from, Autumn and I chose two variables that were not determining variables in our type of statistical study. Although the information collected by Autumn and I didnt answer our original question, the information would prove to be beneficial to a business. For example, if students dont care about having a place to eat their pizza, the business doesnt have to rent out a large building. Or, if Little Caesars sees that they have the ability to raise their prices, and students will still buy their pizza, they may raise the price of their pizzas. Next time, we would add this question: How far are you willing to drive to buy a pizza?
