1. Aim
This course aims to improve reading ability by learning skills that will help you to read faster and understand more.
2. Course Overview
A course designed to develop skills that will help you to read for gist, content, meaning and details.
3. Course Objectives
• Increase reading speed
• Improve comprehension and ability to scan for information
• Prepare for reading sections of English tests
4. Advice for students
The more you read, the better you will read. So try to read for pleasure outside of class to supplement your studies.

6. Evaluation Method
30% = class participation 20% = mid-course test 50% = final examination
7. Evaluation Criteria
Class participation: Every lesson contributes to your evaluation. Punctuality, being prepared for class, completing assignments
on time and active participation in class will all positively influence your evaluation.
Examinations: Examinations will be assessed in accordance with university grading policy.
