Great America Book It forms are due Feb. 26-No extensions will be allowed.
Students reading assessments have been completed again and RAZ-Kids levels have been adjusted accordingly. Please continue to

have your child use this program nightly and/or weekly to continue to improve reading skills.

Language Arts:

We read a play story called Did You See Chip?

We practiced looking for clues to figure out different settings throughout the story.

Writers Workshop- We are writing a friendly letter using a friendly tone and practicing the parts of a letter.

Grammar-We learned about using we and us properly.

Please practice the spelling of the weekly word wall words with your child
Math:

We have started Unit 5.


Students are learning the make a ten group strategy to add and subtract.
We also reviewed and practiced the counting on strategy to help us make a ten.
Colored flashcards went home using the make a ten strategy. Ask you child to show you how to do it!

Social Studies/Science

We were introduced to sound and talked about why it is important.

We listened to different sounds to try to figure out what they were.

We did an experiment using different objects and the sounds they make.
Technology

We practiced drag/drop and making text boxes in Wixie while building math mountains and comparing numbers.
