The Public Relations / Social Media Director (PRSMD) is involved in all aspects of the
development and implementation of 50 Years of Flavas social media based communication
strategies. The PRSMD is responsible for promoting and protecting the shows reputation by
developing and executing media relations and public relations strategies and plans for brand
building/innovation/promotions, internal communications and corporate affairs initiatives
through the use of, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc..
Responsibilities
o Assist in developing, implementing and measuring external and internal Social
Media based communication plans.
o Manage day-to-day media relations/media requests for brand and corporate issues.
o Develop written materials including press releases, Q&A, media standby
statements on brand and corporate issues as required.
o Build relationships with key media contacts and identify opportunities to
proactively pitch brand and corporate stories through social media outlets as
appropriate.
o Assist in the development and implementation of Brand PR programs to support
brand building initiatives/innovation/corporate promotions.
o Help oversee program execution from kick off through to completion.
o Provide guidance and direction to PR agency partners and review all Brand PR
materials to ensure communication is accurate, relevant and consistent with the
(Company Name) brand and overall corporate messaging and positions.
o Provide guidance to ensure coordination and communication of messages/news to
both internal and external audiences.
o Evaluate the effectiveness of Social Media programs and communicate results
back to business.
o Develop and implement online communications strategy ensuring alignment with
internal communications strategy and that it includes day-to-day content
development strategy and functional enhancements.
o Serve as senior editor and provide communications content for Intranet.
Minimum Requirements
o Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or a
related discipline.
o Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices.
