Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

Frodo Baggins is a 50 year old hobbit which means he is basically

the same maturity as a man in his early 30s. He has been forced to
take the One Ring to be destroyed in Mount Doom where it was
forged. He is forced to do this because the ring was originally taken
by a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins from another creature that used to
be close to a hobbit who was named Smiegal. Bilbo was considered
Frodo Baggins uncle and Bilbo liked him so much that he named
Frodo as his heir. The book starts off with Gandalf taking Pippin to
Minas Tirith so he would be safe with him. When they get to Minas
Tirith they meet the Steward of Gondor, Denethor. Pippin tells
Denethor that he will fight for Gondor anytime because he knew
Denethors son Boromir and he gave his life for him and his cousin
Merry. Also, Frodo is currently held captive by orcs.
A little bit later a thing that Gandalf calls the darkness comes from
Mordor and makes the sky all black. While that is happening
Aragorn realizes that the Riders of Rohan wont make it to Mordor
so he thinks that they should take a shortcut called the Paths of the
Dead to get there. While they are there Aragorn gets an army of
dead people to follow him.
Denethor commands his son Faramir to hold off the attacking
armies from Mordor at the post of Osgiliath. Faramir holds his
position for as long as he can but he has to retreat even though he
eventually gets help from the wizard Gandalf. While Faramir tries to
leave the battle he gets shot by a, deadly, poisonous arrow. The
arrow only paralyzes Faramir. Faramir is taken inside of a crypt with
Denethor who actually plans to kill himself and Faramir.
Just before the army of Mordor came into Mordor the Riders of
Mordor came and saved the day but the King of the Nazgul kills the
king of Rohan. In anger Lady Eowyn and Merry kill the king of the
Nazgul.

Pippin and Gandalf find Denethor before he kills his son but
Denethor still manages to burn himself alive. Because the old
steward is now dead and Aragorn has just fought in and epic battle
for the good of Gondor Aragorn is given the position of king of
Gondor.
The armies decide to launch an assault on the Black Gate to
distract the eye from seeing Frodo and Sam. When they reach the
gate one of Sauron most prized servants comes out to tell all of
them that Frodo and Sam are both captured and they will soon use
the rings power but Gandalf believes that he is lying and refuses to
leave. Because of this the servant of Mordor goes back inside and
sends out the armies of Mordor to fight them to the death.
While this happens Frodo is trapped so Sam has to save him. Sam
uses Sting to scare away the orcs after showing them what he could
do with it. They both escape from their and walk out into Mordor on
their way to get to Mount Doom.
It takes them quite a few weeks to reach Mt. Doom but when they
do Frodo gets taken over by the ring and doesnt want to throw it
into the fire. With Frodo distracted by the ring Gollum jumps onto
Frodo and bites off his finger in an attempt to get the ring. That
attempt succeeds and as Gollum was staring at the ring he
stumbled and fell right into Mt. Doom. Saurons tower with his giant
eye falls and Gandalf saves Frodo and Sam on the back of a giant
eagle.
The world goes back to peace and Aragorn marries the daughter of
Elrond to be his queen, because, with all the other possibilities dead
he takes throne.
When all of the Hobbits return to the shire the find out that their
homes are all scavenged and their is a police force that is abusing
people in the shire. They rebel and by doing so they find out that the
leader behind the plot is Saruman. They battle and Frodo chooses
not to kill Saruman but, because of how cruel Saruman has been to

Wormtongue, Wormtongue doesnt understand why they spared

Sarumans life instead of killing him. Wormtongue sees that he has
nothing to live for and decides to kill his master in an act of revenge.
The hobbits go on to settle down with Sam getting married to a
hobbit woman named Rosie Cotton, and they have a child together.
Frodo feels like he needs to get away from the shire so he gets on a
boat with his uncle, Bilbo, and his friend, Gandalf, to go onto an
adventure to the western world.
