Ottobine Elementary 2nd grade Rockingham County Public Schools- Rockingham, Virginia
Fall 2015 Practicum

Collaborated with a classroom teacher in an agricultural community all day twice a week, and attended one
full week of immersion. Executed five of my own lessons: introduction to graphing lesson, 3 literature
lessons on prediction through read aloud and guided instruction, and a creativity arts integration lesson.
Project CAPITAL 8th annual Pre-Service Teacher Civic-Based Institute- Richmond, Virginia
November 2015

Selected as a representative of James Madison University Elementary Education graduate students to


attend a state sponsored conference for pre-service educators.
Pathways to STEM Faculty Advisor Envision Experience-Chicago, Illinois; West Chester, Pennsylvania;

Summer 2015

Acted as a Facilitator for Envision to scholars in third-sixth grade. Taught each session weekly exploring
STEM careers: CSI, Medicine, Leadership, and Engineering. Lead curriculum of solving a crime,
dissecting cow hearts, creating public health campaign, building bridges, and developing leadership skills.
Clymore Elementary 4th grade Augusta County Public Schools- Augusta, Virginia
Spring 2015 Practicum

Provided aid to a Title I suburban classroom teacher all day once a week, and completed one immersion
week. Created and implemented five of my own lessons: Predicting the weather with iPads, introducing
probability and statistics unit, exploring text structures with a current events article on Malala Yousafzai,
Word Study poker, and Revolutionary Tug-Of-War.
Wenonah Elementary Kindergarten Waynesboro City Public Schools- Waynesboro, Virginia
Spring 2014 Practicum

Observed and assisted a Title I rural classroom all day once a week, and one full week of immersion.
Designed a creative math lesson and a SMART board read-aloud. Completed an in-depth case study on
one of the students physical and psychological development.
Volunteer Tutor Second Home- Harrisonburg, Virginia
Serviced low income elementary students after school. Provided mentorship activities and tutoring to
students with high need for one-on-one instruction.

Entrusted with confidential and sensitive information. Consulted with university faculty and staff to design
grading template for undergraduate exams. Handled client inquires while managing office, responsible for
precise data entry, relevant administrative duties.

Licensed and Certified to train and certify individuals in the following: CPR/AED for professional rescuers,
First-Aid courses, and Lifeguarding.
Lifeguard Manager James Madison University UREC
Fall 2013-present

Promoted from Lifeguard to Lifeguard Manager in April 2014. Coordinated events the Aquatics and Safety
department held for university students such as Dive-In movies as a sober alternative event, and a
Battleship competition. Ensured all employees at the Recreation Centers certifications were up to
standard. Supervised the lifeguard staff and scheduling. Hosted weekly office hours. Planned for and ran
monthly in-services to ensure the staffs lifesaving skills were up to par and pool operations were
exceptional.
Mind-Body Group Exercise Instructor James Madison University UREC
Fall 2014-present

Engaged with participants to encourage living a healthy lifestyle both physically and mentally. Taught
students and faculty of all levels various Yoga and Pilates classes.
Assistant Head Developmental Swim Coach and Assistant Swim Coach Overlee Community
Association; Arlington, Virginia
Summer 2011-2014

Coached an established division one swim team multiple age group practices a day, and offered private
lessons. Cooperating with coaching staff to organize one time-trial meet and one competitive meet each
week. Interacted with both swimmers and parents frequently as the team is very family centered.
Swimmers ages ranged from 5-18. Promoted to Assistant Head Developmental Swim coach in 2014:
continued my responsibilities as an Assistant Swim coach and worked closely with the head of
developmental swim team. Planned out all practices, scheduled and ran developmental meets, expanded
swimmers swimming skills. Swimmers ages ranged from 5-8 years old.

- Volunteered at Uriah McPhee Elementary in the Bahamas for a week to teach healthy fitness in the
spring of 2015
