thethreemainfemalecharacters,Mariam,AzizandLaila.

DuetothemanyhumanrightviolationsMariamfaces,herwellbeingisgreatlyimpacted.
WefirstseeanexampleofthiswhenMariamisforcedtomarryRasheed,whichviolatesher
righttoconsenttomarriageandcausesbadbloodtoarisebetweenherfatherandherself.When

ofhisshoeconnectwithherleftbuttock.Shehowledwithpainasheslammedthedoorshut.A

andareleftscarredbothmentallyandphysically.Azizaisleftwithsevereanxiety,Lailaisleft
traumatizedbythethingsshesawandeventualMariamsacrificesherownlife.Itisobviousto
seethatviolatingsomeonesrightscanleavethemdamagedandhavetremendouslonglasting
effectsontheirlife.
