Oversaw and worked in the boarding and treatment kennels. Assisted the
Veterinarian with appointments, exams, treatments, and surgeries on dogs and
cats. Did spay and castrations under supervision. In charge of animals over the
holiday closing periods. Boarded some birds. I worked here before I started Vet
school and returned after my second medical leave and during breaks.

Did a 4 week externship at LSU SVM exotics, zoo, and wildlife medicine
working with local wildlife, companion exotic animals, and with local zoos.
Spent 3 weeks working at The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center in South
Africa working alongside a vet and gained experience working with wild life
such as: Zebras, Cheetahs, Lions, Caracals, Black footed cats, Servals, Nyala and
other antelope, Hippos, Water buffalo, warthogs, Gabon viper, Elephants, and
many other native animals. We learned different aspects of conservation, antipoaching, medical and environmental needs to keep cheetahs in captivity for their
breeding program, worked with local tribes and their livestock, and toured Kruger
National Park.
