Taking advantage of spring-like weather and open water, the walk began at Huntington Beach.
Common Mergansers and Red-breasted Mergansers flew back and forth in groups. Common
Goldeneye floated and dove. Scopes were a must to see most the birds. A most entertaining
European Starling showed off a startling repertoire of bird calls: Killdeer, Common Grackle, Eastern
Wood Pewee, Eastern Phoebe and Red-winged Blackbird, to name a few. At the end of the walk the
Barred Owl next to Lake Erie Nature and Science Center did not disappoint.
