Digital Content and Special Projects Executive Producer (November 2015 present)
An advocate and force behind WKYTs planning for multimedia content, video, audio,
articles, photos, and interactive features, such as data and maps. Manage content for
WKYT.com and multiple social media platforms. Increased site traffic by 30 percent from
November 2015 to November 2016. Study site analytics and work closely on projects for
promotions and advertising. Lead the special projects team, which efforts to provide unique
and investigative stories on air and online.

Lexington Herald-Leader, Lexington, Ky.

Metro Editor (September 2011 November 2015)


Led a team of reporters that took a sharp look at Lexington and the ring counties. Pushed
reporters to break news on the Web and aggressively pursue local enterprise stories. Managed
award-winning coverage of the 2012 tornadoes and riotous behavior surrounding the
University of Kentuckys NCAA championship.
Regional Editor (July 2008 September 2011)
Supervised regional reporters in three bureaus and the cops and courts beats. Made
judgments about coverage priorities and worked with reporters on beat and story
development. Pursued timely posting of breaking news while seeking out Web extras, such as
audio, video and multimedia. Led the coverage of three award-winning stories and an award
winning special section in 2009.
Other newsroom initiatives: Launched Lexingtons Most Wanted, a collaboration with the Office
of the Fayette County Sheriff and the Herald-Leader. Led Derby coverage in 2009, 2010,
2012, and 2013. Helped the Herald-Leader increase its presence and reader penetration on
Facebook and Twitter. Created @HLpublicsafety, which has gained national attention.
Spearheaded the Herald-Leaders efforts to broaden its multimedia coverage. Directed several
multimedia projects, including award-winning coverage of the 2007 Kentucky Derby.
Launched a recruiting website fall 2007.
