UsingtheDockingstationinWindows

Uponcompletingthesoftwareinstallation,thetasktrayutilityiconshouldappearin
yourdesktoptasktrayatthebottomrighthandcorner.Thetasktrayutilityiconwillnot
beavailableuntilyourcomputerisconnectedtothedockingstation.Thegeneral
settingsallowyoutosetupyourvideoandaudioconfigurationofyourcomputerdisplay
andcheckfordriver/andutilityupdates.

First,rightclickonyourdesktopandselectScreenResolutionandidentifyyour
monitors.

TheDisplayLinkutilityallowsyoutoconfigurethedisplaymode,screenresolution,and
physicalarrangementforeachconnectedmonitor.Whenyouhave2additionalmonitors
connectedtothedockingstation,youwillseethemonitorslistedseparately(seeimage
below).Thenumberfollowsthemonitornumberidentifiedfromyourcomputer.Select
thecorrectmonitorandthenconfigurethedisplaymodes.

Clickthetasktrayutilityicontoconfigureyouradaptersettings.

DisplayModes
There are several ways you can utilize the monitor attached to the
adapter.Thesecondarymonitorcanbeconfiguredtouseeithermirror
mode, extended mode or be the primary display as described in this
section.

Extend

In this socalled extended mode, this model is used by default. Your

display will be spread over the secondary monitor(s). This mode allows
you to perform multiple tasks more effectively without overlapping
windows.

ClickontheDisplayLinkiconandselectExtendtoRight/Left/Above/Belowtoconfigure
themonitororientationasshownintheabovepicture,oruseoneofthesettings
describedbelow.

AdjustingResolution

This mode is referred to as mirror or clone mode. In this mode, the monitor
attachedtotheUSBtoHDMIAdapterduplicateswhatisontheprimarydisplay.

Click on the DisplayLink Device icon and select Mirror to duplicate your display. In
Windows7,theDisplayLinkDeviceiconwillbehidden.Pleaseclickthearrowsignand
right click the DisplayLink Device icon and select Advanced. Or, position the mouse
anywhereonyourcomputersdesktop,rightclickandselectScreenResolution.

Therearethreecomponentsthatmakeupthescreenmode:
Resolution: In common usage, this refers to the number of pixels displayed on screen
horizontallyandvertically.
Refreshrate:Measuresthespeedthattheentirescreenisrescanned.Higher
frequenciesreduceflicker.
Somemonitorsadvertisethesupportedmodesthroughthevideoconnector.Ifthisisthe
case,theadapteridentifiesthesupportedmodesfromthemonitor.Ifthemonitordoes
not advertise the supported modes, the adapter software chooses a set of common
screenmodesforthemonitor.

Onlyoneexternalmonitorcanbemirroredtoyourcomputersdisplay.

desktoptobeviewed.

TRENDnet warrants its products against defects in material and workmanship, under
normaluseandservice,forthefollowinglengthsoftimefromthedateofpurchase.

AC/DCPowerAdapter,CoolingFan,andPowerSupplycarry1yearwarranty.
If a product does not operate as warranted during the applicable warranty period,
TRENDnet shall reserve the right, at its expense, to repair or replace the defective
product or part and deliver an equivalent product or part to the customer. The
repair/replacement units warranty continues from the original date of purchase. All
products that are replaced become the property of TRENDnet. Replacement products
may be new or reconditioned. TRENDnet does not issue refunds or credit. Please
contactthepointofpurchasefortheirreturnpolicies.
TRENDnetshallnotberesponsibleforanysoftware,firmware,information,ormemory
dataofcustomercontainedin,storedon,orintegratedwithanyproductsreturnedto
TRENDnetpursuanttoanywarranty.
There are nouser serviceable parts inside the product. Do not remove or attempt to
servicetheproductbyanyunauthorizedservicecenter.Thiswarrantyisvoidedif(i)the
product has been modified or repaired by any unauthorized service center, (ii) the

Warranty service may be obtained by contacting TRENDnet within the applicable
warrantyperiodandprovidingacopyofthedatedproofofthepurchase.Uponproper
submissionofrequireddocumentationaReturnMaterialAuthorization(RMA)number
willbeissued.AnRMAnumberisrequiredinordertoinitiatewarrantyservicesupport
for all TRENDnet products. Products that are sent to TRENDnet for RMA service must
havetheRMAnumbermarkedontheoutsideofreturnpackagesandsenttoTRENDnet
prepaid, insured and packaged appropriately for safe shipment. Customers shipping
fromoutsideoftheUSAandCanadaareresponsibleforreturnshippingfees.Customers
shippingfromoutsideoftheUSAareresponsibleforcustomcharges,includingbutnot
limitedto,duty,tax,andotherfees.
