LOOKING BACK
Money Wise: Ah-Hahs from Proverbs

Whos on First?
Proverbs 3:9-10
Finances can be chaotic, confusing and concerning. So where we start, what comes first, is
foundational to everything else. Whos on first? Another way to ask it would be, What is the
best thing we can do our money? The answer doesnt come easy, nor does the doing of it.
Butis there a better way?
Contemplate/Consider/Discuss/Agree/Disagree

~Christian Bovee

The best investment with the least risk and the greatest dividend is giving.
~Sir John Templeton

Working it Out
1. If a visitor was here last week, what do you think they would have heard?

2. Were you all convinced that the best thing you can do with your money is to give? Why
or why not?
3. If you are already a consistent, priority giver, when did you begin, why do you continue,
and what effect has it had on your life?

LOOKING AHEAD

Moses: The Ultimate Journey

And
Exodus 1:1-14
In Exodus 2, were introduced to a man named Moses, who is about to embark on the Ultimate
Journey of being changed and used by God Himself. But before Moses shows up, Gods already
actively at work in the story, setting the stage for whats to come. Its this stage setting that
well be focusing on, as we establish context for the journey thats to come. We just might see
ourselves in the story as well.
Working It Out
1. Read Exodus 1:1-14. What initially stands out to you when you read this passage?

2. Do you recall how Jacob and his sons got to Egypt in the first place?

3. God hadnt abandoned Israel during their bondage in Egypt, but they may have felt that
way (verses 12-14)

Can you relate with that feeling?

What does this teach us about Gods timing?

Why does looking back at the past help us face hardship in the present?
