Household Planner
Thank you and congratulations on your download of the 2015 Confident Mom Weekly Household
Planner! Youve just set yourself up for success! As with anything, finding a system that works is key to
getting more accomplished in less time. This is where your Weekly Household Planner will become
your best friend. There are two versions of the planner for you to choose froma blank one that can
be customized with your own tasks to fit your lifestyle, and one which I have compiled household
tasks for you. Coordination and completion of the tasks on your planner will help you run a smooth
and efficient home. I recommend tasks that can usually be accomplished in anywhere from 3 minutes to 30 minutes. You see, that is the trickusing those small bits of time we tend to waste away to
take little bites out of larger tasks. You may be amazed at what you can get done!
How To Use This Planner

Print it out. You can either print each week as you go or print the entire year and bind it together. I
find the best way to get organized is to print the entire planner out and take it to an office store such
as Staples and have them spiral bind it for about $4. You can also hole punch it and use your own
binder. If you would prefer to not print it out in color, just choose the black/white option on your printer optionsbut I know I enjoy the burst of color to brighten my day. For legal purposes, the holder of
the planner may print a copy for personal use only (not for resale or mass distribution).
Delegate. Do not become overwhelmed with all the tasks listed each day. This is where other members of your family come into play! The beauty of this planner is that these are things that need to
get done, but NOT always by you! Make sure you include other members of your household in being
responsible for doing some of the tasks, you can then just be in charge of making sure they are done
and checking them off. When we delegate, we are teaching our children so much and offering
them a great example of how a family can cooperate.
Pass on it. If you come to a task on the planner and it does not really need to be done, then dont
do it! If your coffee maker doesnt really need cleaned, then check it off and take a freebie! This
planner is a guideline and depending on the size of your family, the tasks may need to be done
more or less than how they are listed. For example, I only have vacuuming listed once per week, but
in my home I need to vacuum at least two to three times per week due to the size of our family and
furry friends. So I add it on another day as well.
Use it daily. You will find a lot of tasks that you already do in your house, some that are new to you,
and some that could be missing. For the tasks that need your attention, do them and cross them off
daily. For the tasks that do not apply to your householdcross them off automatically at the start of
your day or customize them before you print your planner to remove the tasks you do not need. For
the things that you need to do that are not listed, jot them down in the notes section or add them
using the new fill-in form.
Household Planner
Most of the tasks are self-explanatory, but some need a little hint at what I was thinking when I included them, so you will find a short cheat sheet which provides a little more detailed explanation.
Make sure you read the fun quote for each week to hopefully inspire you or make you laugh too.
Make it your own. The household planner with suggested tasks is a generalized planner all set up
so you do not have to do the work of figuring out tasks for each day. If a task does not apply to you,
just cross it off for that day at the beginningit will make you feel great by crossing it off first thing! Or
use our new customizable fill-in form to edit, add, or remove suggested tasks as needed. If you have
a lot of customizing to do to make it work for your lifestyle, then start with the blank version and add
whatever tasks you need.
More organization. If you did not purchase the supplemental pack with the Master Family Planner and other handy pages (several are new or updated for 2015!), make sure you check that out
before you bind together your planner. If you need to start a family notebook, this may be the place
to start. Keeping your tasks as well as your weekly family scheduled events all in one place is a great
way to stay on top of things. You can purchase the supplemental pack here.

Cheat Sheet
Daily Tasks
Personal quiet time. This time may be a bible study and devotional time for you or just a personal reflection time. I truly feel as busy moms we need this start to our day. If you need a reading plan, Ive
created a simple reading through the bible in a year bookmark that comes with the supplemental
pack of forms that you can purchase.
Load & empty D/W. Lets face it, a family that eats together creates a lot of dirty dishes! I have a
habit of filling my dishwasher during the day and running it at night. When I wake up, I have a clean
dishwasher, and I can empty it or the kids can use dishes directly from there for breakfast and then I
will empty the rest later. Developing a routine for efficient washing of dishes is important for a family.
Make up beds. Making my bed in the morning is one way to start my day. When my kids were
younger, I shared the responsibility with them to care for their beds, but now that they are older it is a
morning task they are accustomed to doing on their own.
S tart laundry. At my house I have to do at least one load of laundry a day, so when I can cross it
off my task list I feel like I accomplished something! Make it a habit to do at least one load per day
instead of having to waste an entire day doing laundry.
Fold & put away laundry. Make sure you finish strong by following through and completing the task
with the laundry. Actually, washing and drying is great, but folding and putting the clothes away is a
fully completed task.
Medications & vitamins. Having a regular routine for taking any vitamins and medications will hopefully prevent you from missing them. Pick a time that works best for you!
Prep for dinner. We all know how important dinner is in our homes. Make sure you are planning a
menu for each week and then doing the small tasks each day to complete the prep workdo you
need to take meat out to defrost, chop veggies, or measure out ingredients?
Get moving. Exercise in whatever form you enjoy is important. This does not mean you have to run
five miles each day, but get your body moving in some type of form. You will feel better and your
spirits will be lifted too.
Self-care 10. Yep, find some time each day to do something nice for yourself. Whether it is reading a good book for a few minutes, taking a walk, or just having a cup of teathese moments are
important to your well-being as a mom!
Cheat Sheet
Empty kitchen trash. Each day our trash needs to be taken out. It keeps the kitchen from getting
smelly and also gives a child a task to do!
15-min. evening pickup. Take a stroll through the house and put away any stray clothes, toys, or anything else that you find. You can have this be a family activity each nightput on some fun music
and have a race.
Kitchen tidy. Every afternoon or evening, after the dinner rush, run a quick wipe over the entire
surface of your kitchen counters. This will ensure all the ick from the day is cleaned off. It will also
deter you from piling stuff up on your counters. If you know you are wiping them down each day,
you will be less likely to use them as a storage area. In addition, take the time to clean your kitchen
sink. Empty it and shine it upyou will be thankful you did when you wake up to a clean and shiny
sink the next morning!
Replace dishrag & towel. Germs and bacteria hide in those dishcloths and towels we use in the
kitchen. Make a habit of getting a new one each day.
Sort mail/paperwork. Letting mail accumulate is always an area we struggle with. If you do this task
daily, you wont end up with a pile of mail to go through or overdue bills. Handle the mail onceif
it is junk, throw it outif it is a bill, place it where it will get paidif it is a magazine, put it where it will
get read. In addition, take care of any papers that come into your home on a daily basis (school
papers, receipts, etc.). Have a spot where you can place them for now, and if needed you can
take a longer time to file them away later.
Wipe switch plates, door handles, remote controls, phones. Grab a rag with some disinfectant
spray and go around the house wiping down light switches, door handles, remote controls, and
phonesboth home and cell phones!
Quick clean showers/tubs. This planner has you cleaning showers and tubs every other week, so on
the off weeks I have a quick clean option. Simply spray the walls with your favorite cleaner and
let it do the trick, or wipe down the walls and rinse. A little cleaning will help keep the big job more
manageable.
Wipe down baseboards. Use a damp rag to skim over the baseboards to keep dust and dirt from
accumulating. If you have small children, this is a great task for them to completeespecially since
they are lower to the ground!
Deep clean laundry room. Every few months you will find this task listed. Make sure you clear clutter
that does not belong in the room; wipe down your washer and dryer; clean lint vents (which should
be done regularly); vacuum underneath your washer and dryer; wipe down any cabinets, drawer
fronts, and counters; and mop floors.

Clean dryer vent. Click here for a great link that shows step-by-step instructions for cleaning your
dryer vent.
Wash all bedding. This task appears monthly and means that all blankets, duvets, and your mattress
pad should be washed when you are changing your sheets that day. This keeps dust mites (yep, I
knowICK!) better controlled as well as helps with anyone suffering from allergies.
Dust/shine wall frames & mirrors. Take a damp rag and run over all your frames and mirrors in
your entire house. Bring along some glass cleaner to shine the glass.
Drink more water. Ensure you are drinking eight glasses of water every day by crossing off the blue
water glasses to the right of each day as you go!

PDF fill-in forms are PDF documents which include dedicated areas where the user can type directly
into the PDF document. You can save and print out your document with the information you entered
in the blanks. This feature will only work in the latest versions of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, so
be sure you have the most up to date version of Acrobat on your computer.
The 2015 Weekly Household Planner includes two versions:
1. Blank Version. With the addition of fill-in forms, you can begin with a blank slate and customize
each day to your hearts content! Add all your own tasks, lists, and notes to make your daily routine
work for you!
2. Suggested Tasks Version. For your convenience, this version comes with suggested daily tasks and
task lists already filled in. Follow the suggested tasks or digitally customize them to reflect your own
style! Simply edit the existing tasks, add new tasks, or remove tasks as needed using the new fill-in
forms feature.
The Weekly Household Planner Supplement Package is available for only $6, and it perfectly compliments the planner. The new fill-in form feature is a flattering addition to the Weekly Household Planner Supplement Package as well! Lists and important information can be entered directly into each
page, which is appreciable when you have long lists and a lot of details to add!
This year Ive also added new items to the Weekly Household Planner Supplement Package, including a Household Maintenance Log, Birthday Card/Special Occasion form, Gifts Received form, and
Blessings for Your Home sheet. In addition, some of the other forms were updated to make them
more user-friendly.
Form Instructions
How To Use The Digital Fill-In Forms
1. What do I do first? Download the printable and customizable Weekly Household Planner file
and/or the Weekly Household Planner Supplement Package file to your computer. DO NOT use a
PDF viewer in your Internet browser. If you open the file in your browser window, you will not be able
to use the editable fill-in form feature. You will need Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat on your computer to open and use the fill-in form feature (you can download Adobe Reader for free at
www.adobe.com/reader).
2. Be sure to save two versions on your computer! Once you have your file open in your Acrobat program, select File then Save As to save the file with a different name in a location where
you know it will be when you need it. You will use this new file to customize your tasks and information. Creating a second version on your computer will allow you to keep the original file you downloaded as a reference or to start over if you mess up your customized file. This is also good if you
need another copy of one of the supplement worksheets or want to refer to the suggested tasks on
the planner when customizing.
3. How do I customize my document? Simply click in a field and start typing! The fill-in forms are set
up so you can easily tab through each field by using your tab key on your keyboard. You can now
delete existing content if needed and replace with your very own lists!
4. Save often!! Always be sure to save your file often! You dont want to lose the important information you entered.
