2 Differentiate between this process of tshirt printing and that of
the screen printing process learned earlier in the course.
3 Apply previous knowledge of the heat press in order to use it to
print this shirt out.
4 Select the proper color shirt in order to print a heat transferred
image with white in it.

Lesson Outline
Guiding Questions
1 How is this printing process different from the screen printing
process we learned earlier in the course.
Body of the Lesson
Introduce students to the printing part of the heat transfer unit. Students will
use the CANNON printer to print off the image they have created in
photoshop and print it off on the jetpro paper, cutting off the excess paper
where there is no image printed on it and then using the heat press to press
down the image with the lined side up towards the learner. The press needs
to be heated up to 375 max. Then placing a piece of the Teflon paper in the
centre of the shirt so the ink dosnt run through and a piece of Teflon on top as
well press down for 30 sec. and remove the backing from a coner slowly.
Hand in for marks.
Focusing Event

Sitting at the computer with photshop opened up and introducing students to

the basic tools and what each tool that we need to use does.
Lesson Activities
1 Complete the heat transfer press part of the unit.
Guided Practice
1 Students need to know how to log onto the computer and print off the
image.
2 Students will heat press the image onto the shirt.
Lesson Closure
Review with the students what is important key safety is needed when using
the heat press.
Opportunity for Independent Practice
Students will have complete the unit by using the printer to print on onto the
jet pro paper and then cut out the excess of the image and use the heat
press set at 375 max to print their images on to their shirts pressing down for
no more then 30 seconds.
Next Class
