Unit 11: Project
Authentic Assessment

Directions: You are a teacher introducing aspects of WWII. Create a PowerPoint

describing one of the following:

Compare on contrast President Franklin D. Roosevelts world view with

Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Tojo.
Identify AND explain key events from Versailles to Pearl Harbor that
resulted in the U.S. entry into World War II.
Identify and describe the impact of World War II on American culture.
o Be sure to include how it impacted our government, family life
(womens role, childrens role, and mens role: how did they
change?), and military.

We will be presenting these in class, so be prepared to speak and make your PP eye
catching! You should have at least 10 slides including an introduction slide and your body slides.
You MAY NOT get research information from the internet! The only thing you may use the
internet for on this assessment is pictures. This is an ASSESSMENT over what you have learned.
You may reference your book, but I will limit the time we have with them, after all, I am testing
you on what you should already know. We will be working on this IN CLASS ONLY!!!! There is
to be NO working on this outside of class.

Here are some key points to help you:

Be sure your PP is eye catching!

Be sure your PP is DESCRIPTIVE!
Be sure you are not reading directly from your slides; you should speak a little
more information than what is on your slides.
Speak at a level where everyone can hear!
Be sure to include pictures, this helps the audience have a visual representation on
your PP.
Dress decently. Jeans are acceptable. DO NOT go out and buy new clothing.
