OBJECTIVE
To recognize the matter as a main component of everything,
and the states of matter as the changes that the matter has
depending on the molecules, in order to comprehend how
everything is made, and works. .
Learning objective:
Recognize the value of matter, what is matter made of,
proprieties and states for a better understanding of the
world.
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE
John 1:3
All things were made through Him, and
without Him nothing was made that
was made.
Essential idea
Matter is everything that takes up space

What is matter?
What is matter made of?
How many states does matter have?
What is the difference between solid molecules and gas
molecules?
Why do not liquids keep their shape?
Why do gases flow very easily?
States of Matter
Essential idea
Matter exists in three different states
Solid

Liquid
assumes the shape of the part of the
container which it occupies
particles can move/slide past one another
not easily compressible
little free space between particles
flows easily
particles can move/slide past one another

GAS
assumes the shape and volume of its
container
particles can move past one another
compressible
lots of free space between particles
flows easily
particles can move past one another

Plasma
Plasmas are a lot like gases, but the
atoms are different
It is often called the fourth state of
matter. Plasma is electrically charged,
does not hold its shape, has a huge
amount of energy and is very difficult
state to manipulate without a laboratory.
